Weird for the sake of weird, or legitimately useful? It feels like that's a question we've asked of plenty of smartphones before, and despite some good intentions, a lot of them seem to have fallen more into the former category. The wait is over, Japanese readers! Apple has announced that the new iPad lineup (iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display) will soon be available in the country for NTT DOCOMO customers. The carrier will offer the products on its LTE network, just as it has been doing for Apple's iPhone products. The devices will be available for purchase on June 10, though pre-registration will begin on June 2 through various DOCOMO outlets such as dealers and their website. Are the first commercial Tizen smartphones nearly here? Well, maybe, if we're to believe the latest rumors. Sure, they've missed the mark in the past, and all those anticipated 2013 launches failed to actually occur, but now we've got our sights on MWC 2014, and are optimistic that these handsets are finally about to see the light of day.
