A couple days back, we heard about a new point-and-shoot digital camera from Nikon that would arrive running full-fledged Android. We only had some leaked info to go by at the time, but today Nikon has made things official, announcing its Coolpix S800c. From the front, the S800c looks like your standard digicam. There's a big 10x optical zoom, xenon flash, and a 16-megapixel image sensor tucked inside. Around back, though, you'll catch the S800c running Gingerbread on its 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen. Android's got a well-deserved home on smartphones and tablets, but we've seen a few signs of it trying to spread its reach out just a bit further. Maybe you remember the home cordless phone Archos released that featured the OS, or the time Samsung talked about the possibility of releasing a camera running something along the lines of Android.
