This is an interesting bit! We're sure you remember all the confusion around Google's latest "pure-Android" phone; before it was officially launched several rumors were referring to it as the Nexus Prime and then Samsung and El Goog came on stage to show off the Galaxy Nexus. There was even a theory that the Nexus Prime will be the name for the phone you'll get on Verizon while the device will be called the Galaxy Nexus in other places. The image above is allegedly snapped off of the December Best Buy catalogue and, lo and behold, it's featuring the Samsung Nexus Prime. Whether it is a ...

Although Samsung's been a little back-and-forth over statements that the Galaxy Nexus will be first arriving on Verizon as a carrier exclusive, it does seem safe at this point to expect Verizon to be among the first carriers getting the handset, but the rest of the US carriers are still in an uncertain position. A new pic suggests Sprint may be making arrangements to prepare for Galaxy Nexus sales of its own. The image in question depicts a shipping document referencing an order being received from Sprint by Sprint Preferred Retailer United Cellular. While it may not be for the phone ...

It won't be long now before we know the fate of Motorola's Droid RAZR, and we're expecting a glut of information on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to follow later-on in the day. A new Verizon leak just might steal some of the thunder from those announcements, claiming to reveal their release dates, along with that of the HTC Rezound. The released pic of a Verizon calendar of release dates appears to be legit enough; it claims that the RAZR, Galaxy Nexus, and Rezound are all due to arrive on the carrier on the very same day, November 10. If this proves accurate, that is shaping-up to be one heck ...

It's just a matter of hours left before Samsung and Google's event to announce Android Ice Cream Sandwich and reveal the Galaxy Nexus, but it's never too late for another leak. We saw some specs for the Galaxy Nexus earlier today, along with some new pictures of the smartphone. A new such image has just been discovered, revealing the phone's rear in detail for the first time. The image comes to us courtesy of no one else than Samsung itself. While the webpage for the Galaxy Nexus may not yet be live, it's already showing up in search results, along with a nice thumbnail of the handset. ...

The Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime event is just around the corner but here's something to get you through the next twelve hours of waiting. The image above together with the specs below are allegedly as close to official as possible as they come from Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. As you can see, the phone pictured above is the same with the one surfaced in real life shots and the side of the device is nothing else than what Samsung teased in its video, with the four connectors and the curved design. Specs-wise, the Galaxy Nexus will reportedly sport ...

We all know what day it is today: it is Google Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung Nexus Prime day! To be quite honest, the date is October 19 in Hong Kong which translates to 9:30 p.m. today on the east coast and 6:30 p.m. on the west coast. "The coolest Samsung smartphone will be coming to Canada soon", says text in the ending of an e-mail Samsung Canada is sending out. The rest of the message talks about Ice Cream Sandwich so it's pretty easy to figure out that they're talking about the rumored (and highly anticipated) Nexus Prime. "Additional information regarding launch date and ...

Mango's been released, the iPhone 4S is here; what's an Android fan gotta do to get some love of his own? Some of the biggest announcements expected from the Android world are on their way this week, but what's going down, when? First up, Motorola's got an announcement for tomorrow, and despite being a little coy, it's pretty darn clear it intends to announce the Droid RAZR on Verizon. We have high expectations for the phone, reviving the iconic RAZR brand, thanks to its expected 1.2GHz dual-core processor, LTE radio, and possible NFC support. The event is scheduled for 12:00 noon in New ...

The worst-kept secret in smartphones today continues to show up in news everywhere, still yet-to-be-officially-announced. Samsung's Nexus Prime / Galaxy Nexus has just made a new appearance, displayed in Best Buy's Cellebrite system. Although we expect the smartphone to arrive on Verizon as the Galaxy Nexus, you can still see the Nexus Prime code name being used even this late in the game. The leaked screenshot from Verizon's computers, at least – the one we looked at earlier today - has the phone as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. While this appearance doesn't really tell us much new about the ...

With the release of each new version of Android, Google's been adding to the sculpture collection at its Mountain View, CA campus. This time last year, it got its Gingerbread statue, followed just a few months later by one depicting Honeycomb. Now, with the release of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich nearly upon us, a new Android, seemingly stamped out of a giant ice cream sandwich, has arrived to join them. The statue looks very cool, but we can't deny that what we'd really like to see is the actual announcement of the operating system, along with Samsung's Nexus Prime to accompany it. ...

Just because Samsung chose not to debut its Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus yesterday, doesn't mean people aren't talking about it plenty. Some new rumors seek to nail-down what processor will power the phone, as well as address some concerns over battery life and how the smartphone will be released. The source's affiliation with the companies involved in the phone's release is unclear, but the moderators he contacted at Phandroid's Android Forums are convinced of his (or her) identity and access to Prime information. It's been said for some time that Google was working with TI chips as it ...

After recovering from the shock of the Google/Samsung Ice Cream Sandwich/Nexus Prime event rescheduling and hearing that it might have to do with some patents, it is a real relief to hear that official wording is on its way. According to recent reports the new time and date for the event is October 19, Hong Kong (of course there were previous rumors implying October 27 in London). If the rumored date becomes a reality we'll see Google unveiling Android Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung showing off the Nexus Prime at the AsiaD: All Things Digital event. Source: Engadget

Samsung wouldn't let a little thing like not having the Nexus Prime ready to show-off keep it from CTIA, so there are plenty of personnel about, even in the absence of this most-anticipated smartphone. One of the execs present is Andrew Glass, Sales Director for Samsung's UK operation. Earlier today he accepted an award from tech site T3, honoring the Galaxy S II as the "Phone of the Year", and took the opportunity to drop a few comments about the Nexus Prime. Now, if we're to believe the prognostications of Eldar Murtazin, the source of this whole delay has been fear over ...

Although there have been rumors suggesting when Samsung might re-schedule its Nexus Prime announcement, originally supposed to go down tomorrow, we've yet to see confirmation. The longer we have to wait to get a look at the phone, will we end up seeing its release date pushed-back as well? A source with ties to the phone's release doesn't seem to think so, and says Verizon will get the phone on November 3. Though Phandroid isn't able to reveal too many details about the source, it says it's verified that its tipster is who he claims to be, and are satisfied that he's someone in the know ...

Many were disappointed after hearing yesterday's joint Google-Samsung announcement that the Unpacked event -- announced to take place at CTIA Fall to unveil Ice Cream Sandwich and the Nexus Prime -- will be postponed to a later date. TheNextWeb is reporting that the new event might take place on October 27 in London. Based on its sources, the report also claims that Google will be there at CTIA to announce what they have to announce. On the other hand, Pocket-Lint says that the date for the Samsung Nexus Prime Unpacked event is not October 27. According to their sources, there might be a ...

It seems like today is the day for Ice Cream Sandwich leaks! This time around someone has allegedly gotten their hands on the boot animation from the upcoming Google Phone -- the "Nexus Prime" -- and loaded it onto their Motorola Droid Bionic. The animation, which plays every time an Android-powered smartphone is booted up, looks like it shares its color pallet with the boot animation on the Motorola XOOM. Instead of the XOOM's "Honeycomb hexagons", this animation features a series of squares arranged in a pulsating circle. Take a look at the video and let us know what you think in the ...
