Then there's some more HTC talk, but now with new leaks by the name of the M4 and G2 which are not as hot as the M7. Then Samsung takes the spotlight as we cover all the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for legacy devices like the original Galaxy Note. After taking a bit of a hiatus from the mobile scene, Intel got back into the business of making SoCs for smartphones last year, bringing us devices like Motorola's RAZR i. While the Atom chips we've seen so far have been single-core components, last September we heard from Intel's Director of Product Marketing that dual-core components were in the pipeline. Now the company has revealed that these dual-core Atoms are finally ready to go public, and it will be showing them off at the MWC later this month. While phones built around single-core Atoms, like the Acer Liquid C1 we just told you ...

Chances are high that the HTC M7 will be announced on February 19 and displayed at MWC but it looks like the Taiwanese phone maker still has a couple of other phones up its sleeve for this year. These new devices might be part of the same family as the M7 but could be launched separately. We hope to see them at MWC but according to reports spring is when they'll be available. The HTC M4 should definitely have something in common with the M7 judging by the naming convention. It is rumored to sport a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon SoC, 4.3-inch 720p screen, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, ...

Will we see some other Samsung tablets at MWC aside from the Galaxy Note 8.0? Possible, given that the company is, according to rumors, working on an entire Galaxy Tab 3 family, as we've recently learned. The codename "Santos" was attributed to an eight-inch model though the info was rather vague, with no model numbers, and it looks like a certain GT-P3200 has been benchmarked. While the screen could be a seven or an eight-inch one, the resolution appears to be 800 x 1280. The GT-P3200 runs Android 4.2.1 and has a processor with a peak frequency of 1.5GHz. There's no further information ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Google's confirmation that they will support sync services for Windows Phone during the next six months as an extension to their past death threat. We later talk about the Galaxy S IV and the probable release dates. Qualcomm apparently leaks Android's next name, but considering how many pastries are left that start with a K, that wasn't a difficult one. Then we talk about the Microsoft Surface RT and bad it's performing when it comes to store returns. We end today's show by talking about the HTC M7 and all the color offerings that are rumored ...

At last year's MWC LG has unveiled it's L-Style lineup of smartphones, the L3, L5, and L7. With the most important mobile trade show of the year just around the corner, rumors and reports are piling up, and it appears that the South Korean company is preparing a follow-up, at least for the L7. The report comes from Russia and it claims that the LG Optimus L7 II Dual will pack a 1GHZ dual-core processor, 4.3-inch IPS-display, eight-megapixel camera, dual-SIM operation, and a 2460 mAh battery. Android Jelly Bean, though version 4.1, appears to be running on the phone and said report also ...

At this year's CES in Las Vegas Huawei brought the huge, 6.1-inch, Ascend Mate. After taking a closer look at this device, and comparing it to the already established Samsung Galaxy Note II, we've concluded that the Huawei phone was not a Note-killer. At least not this phablet, but the ZTE Grand Memo, leaked previously, could be! It will officially be unveiled next month at MWC in Barcelona despite being showed off at a ZTE event in Hong Kong the other day. It has a 5.7-inch screen with 720p resolution and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC clocking at 1.7GHz, 13-megapixel ...

Ever since the May 2012 launch of the Galaxy S III in London we've voiced our beliefs that the next iteration of the phone will follow a similar trend. Samsung's special event for unveiling key hardware is dubbed "Unpacked" and a recent report seems to confirm what a company executive hinted recently: there will be no Galaxy S IV at MWC in Barcelona. Apparently there will be no Unpacked event at MWC next month and, according to "people familiar with the matter" there will be no official unveiling at all at the show. However, Samsung will have a presence on the show-floor -- and quite a ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Nokia's MWC 2013 Press event details. We later go through some more Nokia news as we now have Windows Phone 7.8 information for legacy Lumia devices. The white Nexus 4 takes the spotlight next, but with the tough reality of getting the black model, we don't know if we should celebrate. Microsoft is next as we discover that the Surface Pro can barely provide you with storage if you stick to the 64GB model. We end today's show by talking about BlackBerry 10, the Z10 and Q10, aside from some bloopers at the end. All this and more after the break. ...

We next talk about Asus and Google working on a newer version of the Nexus 7 with a better display and design. HTC makes the news next as we now have confirmed dates and invites for their M7 press event. Back during the Consumer Electronics Show, we heard Acer announce its Iconia B1 Android tablet (above), a model that, while it didn't deliver specs that could even compete with the Nexus 7, managed to catch our attention due to a launch price of only $150. Apparently, the B1 isn't the full extent of Acer's interest in tacking the low-cost tablet market, and now a company exec has tipped off the forthcoming arrival of similarly budget-priced eight-inch and ten-inch tablets. According to this, the company is shooting for a launch price somewhere around $200 for the eight-incher, and even ...

Samsung's Galaxy Note 8.0 is a lock for the Mobile World Congress next month, and while we've already started getting some opportunities to check out early pictures of the hardware, there's still plenty that's not known about the tablet, including just how affordably it might be priced. There are some new rumors going around this week suggesting that the tablet could end up being on the expensive side, but before that starts scaring you away from the Note 8.0, it's important to place the news in context. MobileGeeks.de ran the Note 8.0's model numbers through the systems of a couple ...

If you joined us in being worried after Nokia's complete absence at CES 2013, things are about to change. As opposed to last year were Nokia used CES for their Lumia 900 launch and kept MWC for a minor rehash announcement of the same device along with the 808 PureView, Nokia has just sent out press invites for an event on MWC's first day which happens on Monday, Feburary 25th at 9:00am. The biggest question is, what will we get? Last year we were all over the rumors of the 900 weeks before the announcement, but with the Lumia 920 still soaring in the media buzz, we can't stop but wonder ...

You know all those rumors about a pre-MWC HTC event for February 19? The ones that came back around just earlier this morning, again hinting at would could be the company's launch event for its rumored M7 flagship? Well, we still can't positively say just what HTC plans to announce, but the event itself has just become quite real, upon HTC distributing invitations. We had previously speculated that if HTC really was going to get a heard start on MWC-proximal announcements, it was going to need to get invitations out really soon. Well, sure enough, HTC has confirmed that it's holding a ...

Huawei's MWC event is scheduled for a month from today, on February 24. Just like the company's CES offerings, we're expecting a mix of Windows Phone and Android devices, and on the latter front the company has been talking about an incredibly thin smartphone, which will likely arrive as the Ascend P2. The Ascend P1 was only 7.69 millimeters thick, and the P1S just 6.68, but if what we've heard about the P2 is correct, this follow-up could measure-in under 6.45 millimeters. As we wait for a chance to see the phone in the flesh, the first press render of the Ascend P2 has leaked, giving us ...

With all the rumors and leaked pics, HTC's next flagship, the M7, has felt like it's nearly about to go official, and with the Mobile World Congress coming up in just a month, it seemed like the perfect venue for HTC to make the phone public. Then again, MWC threatens to be quite the crowded shindig, and maybe HTC wants to give the M7 the attention the handset rightfully seems to deserve. A new rumor seems to support that line of thinking, claiming that HTC will announce the M7 at a separate event the week before MWC 2013. A tweet from an Italian smartphone aficionado with "connections in ...

Huawei was one of the companies that took best advantage of the CES to show off new smartphones, while so many others neglected to have any big news of their own. Just because the company has already announced the Ascend D2, Ascend Mate, and Windows-Phone-running Ascend W1 doesn't mean that Huawei's out of news, and we've just got word of it sending out invitations to a pre-MWC event. So, what can we possibly look forward to it announcing? While the Ascend W1 made its debut at the CES, it seemed almost like an afterthought, not taking the stage with the company's Android devices during its ...

When we reviewed the Samsung-made Nexus 10, we noted that, despite being relatively pleased with the tablet's real-world performance, its benchmark figures really didn't seem all that impressive. That's not entirely surprising, considering the huge number of pixels the hardware needs to drive with that 2560 x 1600 resolution. Is Google already thinking about giving the tablet a little upgrade to help give performance an extra boost? That's the rumor we're hearing this afternoon, with talk about a new chipset debuting for the Nexus 10 at the MWC. Bright Side Of News claims to have had the ...

Last week brought us some new rumors about the next Samsung device to launch with an S-Pen stylus, the mid-sized Galaxy Note 8.0. We once again heard some details about the tablet's hardware specs, and learned that a public launch at next month's Mobile World Congress was likely in the cards. Now that rumor seems essentially confirmed, upon Samsung exec JK Shin telling reporters that his company will announce the Galaxy Note 8.0 at MWC 2013. Those hardware details may still be surrounded by a little uncertainty, but the tablet's existence no longer seems up for debate. From what we've ...

Update 2: As we received more information about the matter we wanted to share that with you alongside some clarifications we just received from Bartosz of Czujnym Okiem. First of all, the render above is not an official HTC render, meaning it doesn't originate from the phone maker; however, certain people who claim to have access to an HTC M7 photo -- the front, to be more specific -- can confirm that the device render above corresponds to the photo of the M7 they have access to. We're also being told that while the front of the device looks legit, the back is not. Those who rendered the ...

Samsung's model GT-N5100 came to our attention late last year, with its model number suggesting it would be the latest model to join Samsung's Note series of Androids. Benchmark data gave us the impression that it would be a mid-sized tablet, maybe around seven inches, filling the gap between the Note II and full-tablet-sized Note 10.1 (above). Now SamMobile is claiming to have received some new information on the device, which it says will launch as the Galaxy Note 8.0. Codenamed Kona, the tablet will supposedly be available as both WiFi-only and 3G-enabled versions; the purported specs ...
