January: the post-holiday comedown mixes with the post-CES recovery and pre-MWC quiet to form a lull of epic proportions. Fortunately though, leaks and rumors never stop, and we've got a few of them to bat around on this episode of the Weekly. Today, Joe Levi and Anton D. Nagy each return to the podcast to talk rumored Sony Xperia tablets, LG Windows Phones, and the will-it-never-die speculation surrounding a cheap iPhone. Also making the cut: the HTC M7 and Samsung Galaxy S IV, the Huawei Ascend W2, and some far-out pseudo-news regarding LG's supposed "Nexus 5" and "Nexus 7.7." All that, ...

Over the past few weeks, the hot HTC phone to talk about has been the M7, first showing up in rumors early last month, later appearing on a leak of HTC model names, and possibly even appearing on camera at one point. Was that really the M7, though? At the time we had no real reason to doubt the claim, but today the first render of the M7 has leaked, showing off a quite different design. This image comes to us through the highly reliable evleaks, so we've got good reason to suspect that this is the real deal. That elaborate grille-work at the top and bottom of the handset is reminiscent of ...

CES 2013 is over, and despite the fact that we cranked out about thirty videos covering products ranging from super-phablets to fuel cells, some of us still came away a little disappointed by what was ultimately a very light show, hardware-wise. Whether you were encouraged, let down, or completely unmoved by CES 2013, two things are true. First, you probably missed something amid the torrential downpour of 24-hour news; fortunately, our own Anton D. Nagy has you covered with an extensive wrap-up of our coverage from start to finish. Second -and more germane to our current focus- the ...

At this year's CES, Polaroid introduced an Android-powered camera and also a ten-inch tablet, dubbed the M10, which we've briefly analyzed. Since good things come in pairs, there's also a seven-inch tablet accompanying the M10, dubbed the M7, which will land in Spring for $129. The tablet features a seven-inch screen with 1280x800 resolution, resulting in a PPI of 216, and is powered by a dual-core of unspecified make and model. There are 8GB of internal storage on-board, expandable via microSD card slot, and a two-megapixel web camera on the front, acting as the only image capture ...

Over the weekend a couple of screenshots were leaked purportedly from an upcoming version 5 of HTC's Sense, believed to be running on top of Android on the forthcoming (and rumored) HTC M7. Today we can take a look at two more screenshots with the first (above) allegedly depicting the new lock screen where we can see that HTC made some changes: the ring is apparently gone, weather information is being displayed and our tipster tells us that the icons have a more "holo" look. The second image (below) is reportedly a screenshot of the Settings. If this is indeed the way Sense 5's Settings ...

We are just on an HTC roll today, and the news isn't slowing down yet. Last month, we started hearing about the HTC M7, a high-end Android the company appeared to be working on for 2013 that would feature a 1080p display measuring only 4.7 inches. A leaked spec sheet gave us an idea of what to expect from the phone, and its appearance all over the list of HTC model names made it seem clear that this handset was going to be a big deal for the company. Today, we can add a little bit to what leaks and rumors we've collected so far, upon an account from a supposed HTC insider detailing a ...

Two weeks back, we told you about the rumors surrounding the HTC M7, which would supposedly be the company's next 1080p handset, arriving sometime early next year. At the time, the M7 sounded a whole lot like the Droid DNA (above), with the exception of a higher-res camera. We wondered then what else might help HTC differentiate the M7, and today a newly-arrived spec sheet helps begin to answer that question. The leak reaffirms the claim that the M7 will feature a thirteen-megapixel main camera (along with a big f/2.0 aperture), and also suggests a processor improvement, moving to a 1.7GHz ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we go through Google's pack of software updates that includes major enhancements in both iOS and Android services. Nokia has also introduced the Lumia 620 to the market and we go through all the benefits of the device. Samsung sadly still seems to be delayed with their ATIV S Windows Phone, but the Galaxy S III is receiving a very important software upgrade you should look out for. We later talk about HTC's M7 flagship device rumored for early 2013 and what to expect. We end today's show by talking about the first batch of rumors and imagery that point to ...

HTC just came out with a pretty high-end Android in the form of the Droid DNA (and its other regional variants), but is something even better already in the works? That's what we're hearing, and reports say that a handset known by the codename "M7" could be landing in March with some even more impressive specs. We saw that name pop up in a report by an analyst, citing excitement over the M7 as cause for market optimism towards HTC. Since that name didn't ring any bells, we started digging around a little deeper. That led to some rumors from late last week on Chinese sites that mention the ...
