After advertising material for the Nokia Lumia 928 surfaced a little early, Nokia dropped any pretense that the phone was still secret and has spent this week releasing additional 928 promotional content. Still, we've wondered when the wave would finally crest and we'd get a proper announcement and all. There's Nokia's London event next week, but a UK event for a Verizon launch never made much sense. Instead, Nokia and Verizon have decided to play this one low-key, forgoing any formal press event and simply announcing the 928's arrival this morning. The Lumia 928 launch will come to ...

At Pocketnow, we have a responsibility to try the new, the fresh, and the weird - and that latter swamp is exactly the one Managing Editor Anton D. Nagy waded into with his recent review of the ASUS Fonepad - the tablet with an earpiece. Or the phone with a tablet screen. Whatever you want to call it, we've covered it - and Tony has some thoughts about using a seven-inch smartphone in this edition of one of your favorite tech podcasts. After we clear the giant-phone convo, we've got more to say. Lots more. And, doubtless to the relief of thousands, very little of it involves Samsung's ...

Nokia Lumia 928 vs Apple iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S III video comparison, courtesy of Nokia, that's what we have here. There's a lot of smoke recently concerning the Nokia Lumia 928, and there surely must be a fire too. We've seen a lot of leaks and heard a lot of rumors about the upcoming Lumia phone and, a couple of days after its landing page went live, Nokia has updated the info with official renders and a comparison video -- though we'll hold off on conclusions until we test the phone against other models in our own labs and environments. Above you can see the official images of the ...

Then we move to the Nokia Lumia 929 and its official landing page, aside from talking about the fact that Nokia shareholders aren't happy with Stephen Elop's performance, and we know why. Acer is next as the company has dismissed building Windows RT products, and we also know why that is. The Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom rumors continue as this poses to be the next Galaxy Camera. We end today's show talking about the Google Playground rumors, and why we think this ...

It's almost getting funny at this point, the extent to which the cat's out of the bag when it comes to the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon, yet there's still no formal announcement of the smartphone. As we wait for word, more and more evidence of the model's existence and impending launch continues to arrive from official sources; we had the billboard yesterday, and today get to share with you both a magazine ad featuring the 928, as well as the phone's landing page on Nokia's US site. The two-page ad in Vanity Fair invites users to "capture the highlights" of their lives using the 928's ...

Then we move to HTC as the red HTC One shows itself in the UK, along with the fact that HTC has improved in sales this month when compared to last month. Then we go through the BlackBerry R10 being compared the Q10, just to make your choice for either much easier since the R10 is just ugly. Later we go through the leaks of a mysterious LG phone we assume to be the Optimus G2, and then we talk about the reports that ...

Unless our crystal ball has been giving out some seriously wrong readings, it sure feels like Nokia's next smartphone to launch will be the Lumia 928 for Verizon. As if all the leaked renders weren't enough, the handset may just have been spotted in the flesh at a Nokia party last week. With a press event scheduled for May 14, we've been wondering if it isn't just about time for the 928 to finally step out into the spotlight. Today we get one more sign of its impending launch, with the discovery of an early Lumia 928 billboard. According to the Nokia fan who snapped the pic, this ad was up ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about the Acer Iconia A1 and why it's a device you should consider. Then we talk about the Motorola X Phone, which was recently spotted on AT&T in some tests, and is most likely another ugly phone. Later we move to Nokia as we see the Lumia 928 camera being tested and being quite good. We then move tot he BlackBerry R10, which was also leaked in photos as more of a mid-tiered device. We end today's show talking about Google Games, or the probability that Google is really bringing a Game console in the future that also runs some proprietary ...

Thanks to a number of leaks, we've got a pretty good idea what the unannounced Nokia Lumia 928 is going to look like. This guy feels like he's been hanging in the shadows so long that we're aching to learn when Nokia's finally planning to go public with the model. With a Nokia event just two weeks away, we're anxious to see if the 928 will take the spotlight, but in the meantime we might have just caught a sneak peak at the 928 in action, where it might have just showed up at separate Nokia gathering. This shindig was no product announcement, but a private concert where Nokia provided ...

These last few months have had Nokia sitting on a whole bunch of rumored hardware. We wondered if we might get news of models like the metallic Catwalk or the PureView Lumia EOS at MWC, but the only new Lumias to surface then were the lower-end 720 and 520. When are we going to get to see the rest of this stuff? Well, we just might get our chance in a few weeks, as Nokia has just started distributing invitations to a May 14 London event. Make no mistake - this won't be another Asha announcement like that QWERTY model the company teased. We're absolutely going to learn about something in ...

Last week, amidst a bunch of new renders leaking of the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon, we heard a rumor that the phone's launch was nearly here, and the carrier could be expected to announce the smartphone this week, on April 25. That seemed sensible enough at the time, but now a new rumors suggests that we won't get official word on the 928 this month at all, and will have to wait until May for the handset's debut. Bloomberg cites a pair of sources for its reporting on the 928's launch, claiming that Verizon will go public with its 928 plans sometime in May. That's not a tremendous ...

It's almost like clockwork: first tipster evleaks published a render of the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon in black, followed shortly by it in white. Overnight we got to check out a new look at the phone in black, now showing the sides as well as its face in back, and now wouldn't you know it, but evleaks has the same sort of thing for us to check out again, only this time in white. This is arguably a more interesting find than that new black render, as while we already got to see the black 928 from both the front and back, the only white 928 render so far was just of the phone's rear. Now we ...
