It's been nearly six months since we last hosted a Windows Phone device in the Boston offices of Pocketnow, but in the past six hours we've welcomed in two of the newest and hottest. The Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 810 each enjoyed an unboxing in our studio this afternoon. Neither is a light or a small device, but the product we tour in this video is bigger and heavier than both of them combined. Times ten. It must've been all the excitement around the Windows Phone 8 launch, coupled with the irresistible promise of wireless charging mated with loud, bass-y audio. When I reported to ...

Yesterday was just full of Windows Phone 8 news out of Verizon. Not only did we learn that the carrier would be kicking-off pre-orders for the HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 as of today, but we also heard about the inclusion of wireless charging support in the 8X's hardware. Now that Verizon's taking customer pre-orders, it's given us an idea of just when these phones will start showing up on customers' doorsteps. By and large, Windows Phone 8 pre-orders placed through Verizon will ship by next Tuesday, November 13. That includes both the 8X and the 822, though there is an exception: if you ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we go through the recent Galaxy S III sales results that prove it to defeat the iPhone 4S during last quarter. Then we go through the confirmation that the LTE iPad mini is now ready to ship in the next business days. Verizon has also announced their Windows Phone 8 pre-orders and we give you all the details. Later we do some Angry Birds Star Wars talking, even though you're most likely already playing it. We end today's show talking about AT&T's move to accept FaceTime over cellular data, even though there's always a catch. All this and more after the ...

A couple days back, AT&T shared the details of how its first Windows Phone 8 handsets would arrive, with pre-orders opening yesterday and outright sales beginning tomorrow. Not content to let AT&T get all the attention, Verizon is now coming through with some launch details of its own. The first two WP8 models to land at Verizon will be the HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 822. While the carrier isn't saying when either will actually arrive with any more specificity than "sometime before Thanksgiving", pre-orders for both models will begin early tomorrow morning. The 16GB HTC 8X will sell ...

Overnight, we shared with you some of the latest pics to surface of Verizon's Lumia 820 variant, the Lumia 822. Those renders were just the icing on the cake, though, as now Nokia has followed-through with an official announcement of the 822. Of course, as has become the standard for these Windows Phone 8 device announcements, we're left without some crucial details, like when the phone will go up for sale. That info may follow shortly, as Verizon itself has yet to make an announcement of the 822's upcoming availability. For now, though, we have heard that the carrier should introduce the ...

We can easily take the Nokia Lumia 820 variant for Verizon for granted. We've seen the phone rendered, prices being rumored, real-life photographs, and even a white version with a charging pad. All we need is official wording to confirm the phone, its availability and price. Until we get that from Big Red the render above seems to show the entire family with all three color flavors: white, black and grey. The folks at @evleaks claim these are all the colors in which the phone will be available so if this will turn out to be true --and there will be no swappable shells-- you'll probably ...

Nokia's Lumia 822 is an odd duck, taking the Lumia 820 hardware that will be released internationally, outfitting the phone with a CDMA radio for Verizon, and ditching most of Nokia's iconic design elements for something that looks more like a run-of-the-mill, rounded off handset; as you can tell, it's not a change that everyone's enthusiastic about. We've already had a few opportunities to check out some imagery of the 822, and those are joined today by the latest leaked pic. Unfortunately, today's arrival isn't anywhere near the resolution of what we've seen before. What it does have to ...

We've seen pictures of the yet unannounced Lumia 820 variant for Verizon, dubbed Lumia 822 (which we didn't necessarily like in terms of design) and rumor has it it will go for roughly $50 on contract with the carrier. Same source made available a couple of additional images of the alleged device, seen above and below. According to the report we can expect 16GB of internal storage on the phone with the microSD card slot option also being available, just like on the global Lumia 820. We also learn that the phone supports wireless charging and that it feels plasticky, like the good old HTC ...

T-Mobile's Lumia 820 variant, the 810, looks just like the 820. There are some tiny differences with component layout, meaning that its replaceable shells aren't directly compatible with the 820's, but with extra shells of its own set to become available, that's not a problem. The Verizon version of the hardware on the other hand, the Lumia 822, has an altogether different look. According to some new tipster info, that also means no swappable backplates. According to the same source, the 822 feels a bit cheap and plastic-y. He confirmed that the microSD slot is still in place, and also ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Google's recent enhancements to Street View at times when Apple can still not fix maps on iOS 6. Then we go through more LG E960 Nexus G photos and other Nexus disappointments. Then we cover Verizon's official launch of the Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR HD Maxx. We later move to more Verizon news with the recent leaks of a Nokia Lumia 822 and then Lumia 922 coming to Big Red soon. We end today's show by talking about Consumer Reports' latest verdict on the iPhone 5's purple haze, which according to them is normal. All this and more after the break.

Nokia "Atlas" was the codename of this phone when we first saw a leak of the Lumia 820 variant for Verizon. At that time it was a press render and many of our commenters opined that it was not among the prettiest phones out there. Today we're seeing the first real-life pictures of the device which goes by the model number Lumia 822, according to the latest reports. The specs are on-par with the global variant which means a 4.3-inch screen with WVGA resolution and an eight-megapixel camera at the back with Carl Zeiss optics. Of course there's reportedly LTE for Verizon under that matte ...
