Sorry folks, it's not available in the U.S.! With that one now out of the way we will remind you that Nokia Reading is the Finnish manufacturer's digital reading app and library for Windows Phone with e-book reading feature as well as RSS reader functionality which even allows you to pin publications to the home screen. Russia, U.K., Germany, Italy, France and Spain were rumored to be among the first regions to get the application and it is now available in the Marketplace's Nokia Collection section on Lumia 900, 800, 710, and 610 Windows Phones. If you have one of the aforementioned ...

Future owners in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam will have to wait a couple of more weeks with more regions following this quarter. The same way we heard about Nokia preparing its TV app for Lumia Windows Phones, Nokia Reading will soon make its way into the Marketplace as the Finnish company's e-book store, as presented at this year's MWC. The first country to get it will be Russia with UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain following. If you have a Lumia 610, 700 or 800, you will be able to grab it as a free download (the 900 will have it pre-installed). There will be plenty of free e-books but there will be also an added RSS reader feature that will allow you to pin publications to the home screen. Source: WP7forum ...

The screenshots above come from Russia and they are allegedly snapped off of Nokia's upcoming TV application to soon grace Lumia Windows Phones. Nokia TV would nicely compliment an already interesting application offering that the Espoo-company is offering to its Windows Phone customers. According to the report, Nokia TV will allow for video show streaming on WiFi and Data from a searchable database of local network offerings. The first country to see the app will allegedly be Finland, with local stations like YLE, MTV3 and Nelopen being supported. There's no info on a specific release ...

It is March 28, and, as Stephen Elop himself hinted (promised), Nokia made its Windows Phone debut in China. The first CDMA Nokia Windows Phone on the market is the 800C, introduced with China Telecom. It will become available in April in the two best-selling flavors: black and cyan. If you are looking for something else (cheaper), make sure to wait until the second quarter of the year (which is just around the corner) when a CDMA version of the Lumia 610 will also land on China Telecom's line-up. Future owners of the Lumia 800C on China Telecom will have access to "popular Chinese media ...

After recently updating its Nokia Drive and Maps applications for Windows Phone, the Finnish company isn't stopping here as the Nokia Music application also received a version bump to number two. The good folks at WPCentral reached out to Nokia and found out that the new version of Nokia Music only includes UI and audio improvements. However, every incremental version number counts and speaks of dedication. As it unfortunately turns out though, the application refresh is not available in the U.S. (which could be good news for international readers who were always complaining about U.S. ...

When Nokia and Microsoft agreed to collaborate last year in February it was not sure which company was the other one's safety belt; truth is Nokia needed to regain a huge chunk of the market lost and Microsoft needed a strong hardware partner to build the buzz for Windows Phone. After launching the first Windows Phones -- the Lumia 800 together with the Lumia 710 -- five months ago, Nokia is confident. "Our strategy is working. When we formed an alliance last year with Microsoft our intention was to regain lost share. After one year, it is still working. We are the number one Windows phone ...

Back in the day when we reviewed the LG Optimus 7, one of the Windows Phone 7 launch devices, we took a closer look at the "Play To" DLNA application which since has been renamed by the manufacturer to SmartShare. However, Nokia is now releasing a Beta of a similar app, called "Play To", for Lumia Windows Phones. The principle is the very same: you can display pictures and videos on DLNA-capable devices over WiFi, if you are on the same network. These can be TV sets, BlueRay players, or a computer running Windows 7 for instance. Future releases will most definitely include Music streaming ...

If you have a Windows Phone made by Nokia, any of the Lumia devices, really, you will be able to use the Creative Studio which is now available as a free download if you have an Espoo-designed phone. It's basically a simple photo editing application which could help you get more out of a boring (or dull) image. The best feature is probably the live preview where you can see real-time results, in the camera application, of the effects you apply. That aside, there's also a panorama mode if you're interested and not willing to wait until the Lumia 800 gets this as a native feature. The ...

Despite the fact that the WiFi Hotspot capability of Windows Phone has been introduced with the "Mango" refresh, the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710 don't currently support this feature. However, the entry level Nokia 610, introduced at MWC where we inspected the hardware, is advertised to support this functionality. If you follow the source link below to the official Lumia 610 page on the Nokia site you'll see that it says: "use as a WiFi Hotspot for up to 5 WiFi-enabled devices". It may seem strange that the 800 and 710 don't support this feature (and the entry-level 610 does) but it ...

It's that time of the year again, when we're both happy and sad, excited and disappointed all at the same time. Last year's Mobile World Congress was all about three things: Android, 3D and speed offered by emerging dual-core processors. This year's show was not that much different at all, if you come to think of it. It's safe to assume that everyone who was there -- or following our MWC coverage -- understands that, again, Android was all over the place. With or without Ice Cream Sandwich on smartphones or tablets, the Google platform -- and its OEM partners -- has flooded the show floors ...

Alongside its flagship Lumia 900, Nokia also announced the budget Lumia 610 Windows Phone at this year's MWC. After taking a look at the phone itself we reported that the company itself thinks the price point should be lower in order to make the device competitive with Android phones. Thanks to the FCC you can have an early look at the Lumia 610 manual, which is available to download from the source link below. One interesting bit is that you will be able to turn your phone face down in order to silence an incoming call, pretty much like in the good old days with Windows Mobile, some ...
