A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, five-inch 1080p screen, 2GB of RAM, and a 20-megapixel PureView camera, is what you should expect, if the rumors are true, to see on the upcoming Verizon Nokia Lumia 929 -- specs which are pretty much identical to the Lumia 1520, minus the one-inch-smaller display. We've seen a lot of leaks, rumors, and speculation and now we're hearing some more, this time, regarding a possible release date. November 21 -- this Thursday -- is what an anonymous tipster claiming to be a Verizon insider suggests. The tipster also claims that we'll see the Lumia 2520 on ...

Nokia's first Windows 8 tablet is now a reality, as we saw the Lumia 2520 go official at last month's Nokia World event. We're already getting knee-deep in rumors about where Nokia's tablet plans could be going from here, but before we get ahead of ourselves, there's still the matter of the 2520 actually hitting the market. Last week, we heard some rumors about the US launch situation, and checked out a leak that seemed to reveal plans for the start of AT&T's sales. Today the carrier speaks up about the situation, laying out just how you can get your hands on Nokia's tablet. Confirming ...

What the heck is going on with Nokia's Lumia 1520 and the phone's retail availability? We just saw pre-orders open, apparently with the intent to make the handset available on November 15, only to have Microsoft subsequently do an about-face, insisting that the orders went live prematurely, and putting a halt to them. So where does that leave us? Well, if we're to believe the latest leak, the 1520 is still on its way, but just a little later than expected, and should be showing up arm-in-arm with the Lumia 2520. Leaks identify the retail launch date for the 1520 at AT&T as Friday, ...

With Windows Phone 8, we're well used to seeing Nokia going above and beyond in the software department, gifting its Lumia handsets with exclusive apps that have really helped cement Nokia's place as king of the platform. Last month, we finally got confirmation of Nokia's first efforts with Windows RT, as the company announced its Lumia 2520 tablet. Unsurprisingly, it too will arrive with the benefit of some software exclusives, and today Nokia has taken to its blog to highlight the features we can expect from one of these, the Nokia Video Director. The trick for Nokia was delivering a ...

We were only just talking about the phones we got to see (and those we didn't) at last month's Nokia World launch event, but handsets weren't the only products on the agenda back then: we also got to see Nokia launch its first Windows 8 tablet, the RT-running 10.1-inch Lumia 2520. While there weren't too many surprises there, in the weeks leading up to its launch we found ourselves wondering at least once if Nokia might not be working on multiple tablets; could we still get another one, in addition to the 2520? That's what the latest leaks suggest, claiming that Nokia's working on a tablet ...

Fun fact: flame wars, petty bickering, and troll hijinks aren't just confined to the online world; they find a ready home in corporate tactics as well. That's a reality we were reminded of this week, as Apple announced its new iPad family on the same day Nokia unveiled not just its first Windows-based tablet, but also the first-ever Windows Phone phablets, at its Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi. Predictably, the Apple news obliterated Nokia's announcement in the news cycle - but, the Pocketnow Weekly being a platform-agnostic, equal-opportunity podcast, we're gonna cover both new device ...

Nokia's announcements today have come and gone, and while we didn't end up seeing every last little product we heard rumored, the big ones sure landed. That means that the first Nokia Windows RT tablet is now official, the Lumia 2520. And what a tablet it is: 1080p display, 2GB RAM, LTE connectivity, and the stalwart Snapdragon 800 powering everything. But is it really everything it could be? Nokia says the tablet "takes everything you've got in your desktop or laptop and crams all that into a device that’s only 8.9mm thick and weighs a little over a pound." Well, I don't think that's ...

This has been a year full of believers and non-believers in a Nokia that would ever build a tablet. The world has been full of rumors, but it took the company so long to actually make those rumors true, that even some of the believers began losing faith, and specially when the words "Windows RT" were included in the mix. Still, the product is now a reality, and we can't wait to give it a try. As expected, the Lumia 2520 looks like a bloated Lumia smartphone, though it packs a 10-inch 1080p display that boasts brightness at an impressive 650 nits under Gorilla Glass 2. It's packing LTE ...

Apple's not the only one with big news coming soon, and in just a matter of hours, Nokia's throwing a Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi. There's a lot to cover here, so let's dive right in to the device that feels like it's the nexus of this announcement, the Lumia 1520. Well, it wasn't always the 1520 - not to us anyway. We've been talking about the general idea of a phablet-sized Lumia for a while, and back in August, that started taking shape as a phone codenamed Bandit. Before the month was out, we heard that Bandit might launch as the 1520, and our first look at fully-assembled hardware ...

We're in the home stretch now: less than one week to go until Nokia World in Abu Dhabi, when rumors claim that half a dozen or more new Nokia devices will make themselves officially known to the world for the first time. Sure, it feels like a lot of that has leaked already, but as recent development's like yesterday's rumor about the Nokia Guru make clear, there's still plenty of room for surprises. One model in particular we've been expecting for Nokia to debut is the company's first Windows 8 tablet, presumed to arrive as the Lumia 2520. At least, this would be a prime opportunity to ...

Black, white, red, and cyan were the colors mentioned in the first Nokia Lumia 2520 leak, and we've already seen the cyan and the red variants' renders. However, a new leak, this time, from another source, seems to add two additional colors to the table: yellow and green. The tablet is expected to be unveiled at Nokia's October 22 event, alongside other Nokia devices. As far as this leak is concerned -- you can see renders of all purported colors at the source link -- we advise you to stay a bit skeptical, because we're dealing with a new leakster (the Twitter account has been created for ...

Here's a quick one! Remember the Nokia Lumia 2520 leak from yesterday? It was an alleged press render of a cyan Nokia tablet, allegedly codenamed Lumia 2520, which will be available, according to the report, in black, white, red, and cyan. After seeing the cyan model render, we are today presented with the red variant. We can, of course, expect to see the other two color options being leaked, but we'd be more interested in seeing the back of the slate, alongside some hardware details. Nokia is expected to unleash several products at its Abu Dhabi October 22 event, and the above tablet is ...

It was just a couple hours ago that we were lamenting the dearth of opportunities we've had to get a good look at Nokia's rumored Lumia 2520 tablet. We had that rear shot which didn't show much of anything at all, a newer rear shot that may or may not reveal a kickstand, though so closely cropped-in as to obscure much of the device, and that old red render of uncertain provenance. Today we get what very well may be our first clear, crisp, clean glance at the 2520, with a press render of the tablet in cyan leaking. Or first impression is that this largely matches that red render, allowing ...
