A couple weeks back, we saw Kyocera release a video teasing some upcoming tech we'd be finding in its smartphones. Normally, this isn't a company we expect to see pushing many limits, but this time we were intrigued, as it was talking about sapphire screens. As we look forward to see if Apple's really delivering its next-gen iPhones with sapphire protection, Kyocera teased its own Sapphire Shield, a “truly affordable, pure sapphire display.” But just how would that arrive? We may have the answer, as one of our sources clues us in to the coming availability of the Kyocera Brigadier on ...

We've heard a lot about the LG G Vista in the recent past, with leaks, reports and rumors mentioning the device as being on its way to Verizon. Rumors about a July 18 release date clearly have not panned out, but is a launch still on its way? And if those rumors were wrong about that date, could they be wrong about other details, as well? Verizon hasn't made anything official just yet, but we've received new information from one of our tipsters which, as you can see below, attempts to clarify a few specifics about the G Vista's hardware, while also giving us a new launch date of Thursday, ...

ZTE hasn't necessarily been a blockbuster hit when it comes to the smartphones it has launched in the US, but that could be intentional. The company has focused on the mid-tier market with devices like the Nubia 5 or the Boost Max that we recently reviewed, and we doubt things will change any time soon after what we saw at ZTE's booth at MWC 2014. That said, the company is interested in growing in the US market, and some new leaks point to something new in the pipeline. Famous tipster @evleaks just landed an interesting tip of a ZTE phablet that's currently being tested on T-Mobile. You'll ...

One of the biggest issues that we've landed with iPhone review devices over the last couple of years is when the home button loses sensitivity. Some people make it a habit to forget that there is a "power/standby" key and use the home button for this action, and it's a habit that has most-likely grown with Touch ID on the iPhone 5s since it's now easier to unlock your phone through it. Apple hasn't made any statements on the matter, but it seems that the company is planning to improve the design of the Touch ID sensor with the iPhone 6. Images have surfaced of the new Touch ID sensor ...

Ever since the very first Lumia devices from Nokia, everyone wondered what would happen if these Nokia smartphones ran Android. A Lumia running Android was even more wished for once the Lumia 1020 landed, making everyone wonder how a great camera would do on the market if it was powered by Android, and build by Nokia. Fast forward to today, and we've got a pretty interesting leak (or prediction) from @evleaks. According to the latest bits, a Lumia running Android is incoming, made by "Nokia by Microsoft". This is a great tease for many out there, but unfortunately, it will stay that way ...

The LG G3 did well in our review, being one of the 2014 Android flagships to want, together with the HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5, and Sony Xperia Z2. However, our review was based on opinions formed while using a South Korean version of the device, with an American carrier unit not being available. That being said, thanks to @evleaks, we're seeing all (major) four US carrier models being leaked in press renders, as seen above. From left to right, we're seeing the upcoming Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile versions. Interestingly, of all four devices, only Sprint version (as ...

The Samsung Galaxy F leaked today, in what is claimed to be a real-life picture of the upcoming device. We've heard a lot of rumors and seen a lot of leaks recently regarding the device, but most of them were in the form of leaked press renders. The image above is claimed to be representing the Galaxy F, and you can immediately notice the metal frame around the screen. If you think it resembles the chamfered edges on the iPhone 5/5s, or the HTC One/One M8, you're not wrong. However, the interesting bit comes in the report that accompanies the image. Apparently, according to unnamed sources ...

Ever since Samsung tested out the waters with its phablet (and the Note line-up quickly became very popular), LG was eager to get in the game as well. The original Optimus VU was unveiled at the 2012 MWC, followed by the VU II post 2012 IFA, and the VU 3 at the end of September 2013. LG's take was different than Samsung's from two main perspectives: the VU phones didn't use a stylus (or pointing device), and adopted a 4:3 aspect ratio for the screen. From what we can deduce from @evleaks' latest tweet, the VU line-up will be replaced (?) by the LG G Stylus. However, if this will indeed be ...

Now that the Google I/O dust has settled down (just a little bit), we can turn our heads and attention to the main competition: Apple. We're hearing reports talking about the iPhone 6 launch date, and Friday, September 19, 2014, is the date rumored. Apple is expected to unveil a 4.7 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6, and apparently there will be no 16GB version; this year, Apple is rumored to only offer 32 and 64GB versions. However, the same way we heard that only the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will get OIS features for its camera -- the larger phone being positioned, according to reports, as the premium ...

The Moto X+1 might, or might not show up at Google I/O (we'll definitely know for sure in less than 12 hours), but the phone was leaked and rumored extensively in the past couple of weeks. What you see above, and below, is allegedly a press render of Motorola's upcoming flagship phone. The Moto X+1 press render leaked today seems to confirm the rumors according to which there might be a front-facing speaker on the device. The report claims that the Moto X+1 has a great chance of being unveiled at this year's Google I/O, together with its front-facing speaker and all, but for now that's ...

As Google I/O is about to kick off, we're seeing some reports concerning iPhone 6 features that will reportedly be included on Apple's 2014 flagship. There were a lot of reports in the past, with leaks, and images of mock-ups, and the trend seems to be continuing. According to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 6 will have optical image stabilization (OIS). However, only the 5.5-inch model is believed to sport OIS VCM (voice coil motor), while the 4.7-inch variant, due to yield rates, is expected to feature a "middle-mount open-loop voice coil motor", an improved version of the the one ...

The LG G Watch has been in the headlines for quite some time, and, with Google I/O just hours away, we finally get some information on its release date. That, together with another Android Wear smartwatch bit, this time, from Samsung, paints a nice image of when these Google-powered wearables will be released. The LG G Watch has been spotted online on e-tailer websites like MobileFun (in the UK and Australia). It is currently listed with pre-order status, but it will apparently start shipping on July 7. Prices vary from region to region, but are around the €223.99/$255 mark. You can ...

We're getting closer and closer to the iPhone 6 release date, as there are preparations on both the software and the hardware side. Apple has recently released a second beta of iOS 8, while we recently caught a glimpse of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 in a leaked photo. Next month, July, is when mass production of the largest iPhones ever will start, according to a recent report quoting "people familiar with the plans". While there is no exact iPhone 6 release date yet, the sources claim that the smaller of the two, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 might ship to retailers around September. As far as the ...

The Samsung Exynos 5433 was initially mentioned in an early June report, when we heard of the company's plans to skip the 5430, and go with the Exynos 5433 instead. On that exact note, there were rumors claiming that one of the upcoming Note 4 models will indeed run on the Exynos 5433 chip, while another variant, for Samsung's home turf, would be powered by the Snapdragon 801 SoC from Qualcomm. Apparently, as you can see in the image above, the Exynos 5433 has been benchmarked by AnTuTu. That, by itself, is not a huge deal, but the fact that it managed to get a higher benchmark score than ...

The Apple event for devices is still months away, but the iPhone 6 (in both its incarnations, with different screen sizes) has been rumored, and leaked,  numerous times. However, we're yet to see some solid iPad Air leaks, but this one from today might just represent the start of the leaks to come. Call it iPad 6, the New iPad Air, iPad Air 2, or whatever you like, the pictures above and below claim to depict just that: Apple's iPad Air refresh. At a first glance, not much has been changed. The thing that you will immediately spot is the Touch ID fingerprint scanner that looks to make its ...

Just like in previous years, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 4 at this year's IFA in September. Though almost three months away, we're already seeing more and more reports on the upcoming phone. These reports seem to indicate that the upcoming 2014 phablet will have the model number SM-N910. A SM-N910A device popped up both on Samsung's website, in form of a User Agent Profile mention, as well as on India's Zauba, a website tracking import and export activities. The SM-N910A could very well be an upcoming AT&T version of the phablet, meaning that Samsung has started ...

The last time we've seen this phone was with the occasion of a recent Samsung Galaxy F leak that placed the allegedly metallic phone next to the current Galaxy S 5 flagship. Since we only saw the front of it, we could only guess that it was a black/grey version, pretty much like the one in this leak. However, there was also a white Samsung Galaxy F leak in form of a press render, and now we're seeing another color. Gold, or champagne, call it as you wish. There's really not much info here, and there are few things we can comment upon. The back seems to be brushed metal, or a very good faux ...

The closer we get to Apple's yearly iPhone event, the more and more leaks seem to indicate that there will be two models with two different screen sizes. As we slowly start taking this for granted (until Apple proves everyone wrong, or not), we're even seeing reports and opinions on the pricing for the two upcoming models. Today though we're seeing an iPhone 6 leak, in a set of pictures purportedly depicting a real-life 5.5-inch iPhone 6 physical “dummy” mockup (next to the 4.7-inch version). The space grey version can be seen above, while the champagne gold can be seen below. ...

I remember the first time I came face to face with Mr. Blurrycam's work. I was sitting in my macroeconomics classroom on the computer, casually working on a project and checking one of my favorite tech sites at the time, CrackBerry. There it was, the BlackBerry Storm 9530, pictured in all its click-screen glory. I swooned. An all-touch BlackBerry? As much as I loved the BlackBerry keyboard, I was dying for more screen real estate – more room to play Spider Solitaire, read emails, or browse the Web. As nice as the physical keyboard was, I was willing to trade it for more display space, ...

The Samsung Galaxy F -- previously named (tentatively) Galaxy S5 Prime -- has recently paid the FCC a visit, and was subject to speculation in terms of the processor that will be at its core. A recently leaked image places the metallic Galaxy F next to the current Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S5. Before we dive into analyzing the stills, we'll tell you to keep a small dose of skepticism, as the veracity of these images can't be verified for now. That being said, the first thing that strikes us is the reduced bezels surrounding the screen. We can't judge from these images whether the bezels ...

The Sony Xperia Z2a will most probably see the light of day next month in Taiwan, according to reports, but there is still no information on whether we'll see a wider, maybe even global roll-out of the device. When compared spec-to-spec with the flagship Xperia Z2, the Xperia Z2a has a lot in common with its bigger brother, but, at the same time, it's also different in some aspects. What the Xperia Z2a and the Z2 have in common are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, the 20.7MP camera with the Exmor RS sensor, and, of course, the water and ...

Acer smartphones are not too common in North America, as the company has told us, with several occasions -- at trade shows -- that it focuses mainly on Europe and Asia. However, that's about to change: according to a recent @evleaks report, AT&T is preparing to add an Acer smartphone to its line-up. We don't have a model name or number, nor any details regarding availability and pricing. What we do know, however, that the five-inch Acer phone will have a Full HD resolution, and will utilize an eight-megapixel sensor for its main shooter on the back. According to the report, the rest of ...

The first time we heard about the HTC One Remix, about two weeks ago, we knew it will eventually land on Verizon's line-up, but we didn't know exactly what the phone was. Now, according to @evleaks, we're getting answers, as the HTC One Remix will allegedly be Verizon's HTC One Mini 2. While the leaked press render below seems to conceal something (probably the time and date on Sense, which usually hints at the announcement date -- or some other sensitive data), we can definitely recognize the phone, this time, with the Verizon logo apparently replacing HTC's own branding at the bottom of ...

With smart watches being the next cool thing, it is just normal for OEMs to be a part of the game. It's no longer just Pebble, but other notable manufacturers, like Samsung, for instance, offer their takes on wearables. Apple is expected to bring a smartwatch, and we've also been hearing rumors of an HTC device that will be more than "just a gimmick"; sadly, it has missed the MWC show floor. According to recent reports, the Taiwanese manufacturer does indeed have a smartwatch, tentatively called the HTC One Wear. Late August/early September is what the report claims as a possible ...
