It isn't happening. Take a chill pill and sit down. With the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5 arriving on February 24, we're looking for some sense of closure when it comes to our expectations. Have we agreed upon what we'll settle for in terms of internals? That usually happens shortly before showtime. Weibo's been a hive about this sorting this business out and one rumor stoker from a Chinese mobile tech blog put out some specs: a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, 16-megapixel camera on the back, 4 megapixels on the front, Snapdragon 820, USB Type-C, NFC and a 2,910mAh power pack. There are two configs ...

Huawei's done with the Nexus 6P, but it's not done building in its characteristic top visor. This time around for its newest flagship, the P9, it's a little more crowded. Leaks have come in from Weibo on the P9, showing off a face plate with some heavily-beveled edges and a very interesting rear: it's packed with a fingerprint sensor, two 12-megapixel cameras with dual-LED flash and a mystery module under the diodes — possibly for infared beaming or laser autofocus. USB Type-C looks to also jump in on the bottom edge. We're looking at the next iteration of Huawei's house-made Kirin ...

LG wants to come to MWC to "play" for the first time in a long time, especially when we're talking "G" models. And with the G5 comes its share of leaks, including a surprise switch-up in design language, a battery trap door, and two optical portholes on the back. We're now getting a good glance and how some of those changes will actuate, thanks to a Droid Life insider source. [gallery columns="4" ids="461584,461585,461586,461587"]   There's a "NOT FOR SALE" sticker along with a bunch of other overexposed stickers and a nice little blue one. A previous picture of the G5's back, supposedly ...

It's been a busy CES 2016 so far with lots of cool things coming out of Las Vegas, but we're taking a break to look at another hot topic. The Samsung Galaxy S7 might be missing from the show floor (and it's not quite sure whether it will make an MWC appearance, or, on the contrary, it will be the star of a separate, dedicated event), but it's not absent from the headlines. We recently heard of a possible 5.7-inch version with a 12MP camera, and we also caught wind of future possible features, like waterproofing and the return of the microSD card. The images contained in this article are ...

2014 was the year of the Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 and TabPRO 8.4, but, judging by this recent leak, 2016 will be the year of the Windows 10-powered Galaxy TabPRO S, that might even turn out to become a Surface Pro 4 (or Surface Book) competitor. We don't have any specs to accompany the leaked renders (though we're guessing it's just a matter of time), but what we're seeing is pretty self explanatory. A tablet that can turn into a notebook once a keyboard (probably cover as well) is attached, a tablet that seems to follow Samsung's design guidelines, as we're seeing nothing special ...

Nokia had plans for a smartwatch of its own. We've seen reports, last June, of a device tentatively codenamed Moonraker, but apparently Microsoft has cancelled Nokia's project shortly after acquiring its Devices and Services division. After all, the Microsoft Band 2 was well on its way, and Redmond was busy working on improving its first generation wearable. The images above and below are purportedly snapped off of a Nokia smartwatch prototype (the Moonraker). Not much can be discerned from the stills, but you can instantly spot a minimalistic UI (where shown) that resembles the one ...

Want to stare at some pictures? You've come to the right place. The HTC One X9 has gone through the rumor wringer and then some. The trip to TENAA left us wanting more, especially with that branding moved from the chin to the forehead. Luckily for us, it's the Chinese internet to the rescue as we now have more angles of what is supposedly the device. We can see a lot of the same action going on in the back, including that weird camera visor action and only a lower antenna reception band. More importantly, the front — pictured in its white finish — now sets off more details that we ...

BlackBerry is still committed to BB10 support, but given the recently-released, high-profile and high-in-demand Priv, you'd think that the company seems a little torn in its software development. But it wouldn't make sense for the Canada-based OEM to just go one-and-done with the whole Android deal, right? Especially considering that the Priv is considered as "step one" towards getting its devices unit back to profitability. Enter the BlackBerry "Vienna," a phone much like the BlackBerry Priv (codenamed "Venice," so watch out for another name) in terms of height and keyboard, except ...

The HTC One A9 may go down as a wash for the Taiwanese OEM at a time when it could not afford to keep on the lather-and-rinse roll its been going through. Now, as we look down the HTC One pipeline, we've been seeing divided reports on what a new device, codenamed "E56," might be packing. This is an update to a story we posted earlier today and is also a great case study of how a leak gets incubated in such a short period. nowhereelse.fr Known muckraker entity nowhereelse out of France put up a post on Saturday suggesting that this HTC One X9 could be a step up from the One A9 in terms of ...

Didja buy a Nexus 5X? How about that Nexus 6P? Did you buy it from Google? Did you buy it from Huawei? Do you know when you're getting yours? You might now as we're chasing tails on some updates from Reddit. First of all, if you want to buy your Nexus 6P from Sprint, sod it. It's not selling either of the phones. But the company's employee manual tells us that service reps will happily take your Nexus 6P on starting October 14 — that's Wednesday. That means some antsy buyers who chose next-day shipping may see their phones on the way by tomorrow. Of course, the date means little just ...

Remember that HTC Aero leak with the side-by-side comparison of the "champagne" iPhone? Remember how intense that hue stared at you into your soul? Are these good or bad memories we're forcing you to remember? Well, with all the other Aero rumors about the specs and release date still up and walking the moon, we might as well chew on the fruit that drops first. Six different colors are expected for the HTC One A9 palette. One of them is called "Acid Gold." Another has gold in the name. Three of them are shades of gray. And the last one is definitely pushing into pomegranate territory ...

Tonight's the night the nexii are putting out their laundry. With the boxes out in the open, it would be high time for the real things (or the retail-ready facsimiles) to come out. They did. And now we're looking at them. First came the Nexus 6P leak this evening. We're able to match details from the picture to the real-life leaks we have as well: the flathead camera lozenge, the large, rounded body, the fingerprint sensor location as well as the layout for other branding accoutrements. The facade should give way — this we're guessing to be from more leaks — to a 5.7-inch screen, a ...

After initially hearing quite a lot about a certain upcoming HTC phone, codenamed Aero, said device is now being referred to as the HTC One A9. Said device will likely be announced later in the year, though some rumors have suggested dates that are already behind us. That didn't stop the device from allegedly being pictured next to the iPhone 6. The image you see below is allegedly a screenshot representing benchmark results of a certain HTC One A9. We advise you to remain skeptical about this, as there's no way in verifying the veracity of the information below. At the end of August ...

Whether it really was the real deal or not, Monday's leaked (purported) LG Nexus 5 render gave us probably the best look at the upcoming smartphone, granted, just for the back of it. One day later we not only saw two (black and white) color options, but we were treated with a look at the smartphone's side, but, as we get close to that rumored October 13 launch date, accessory manufacturers (especially case makers) are gearing up. One such LG Nexus 5 case maker, Ringke, is showing off its clear case in the render above. Luckily, Ringke is also (allegedly) showing off the front of the ...

The Cityman and Talkman are codenames for two smartphones that Microsoft will allegedly unveil in the near future. According to some reports, October 19 is the date to circle in your calendar if you are looking forward to seeing new Microsoft Lumia flagships. While we've been seeing renders and leaks of all sorts regarding the two aforementioned phones, the leak we're looking at is hopefully going to further clarify things. The images above and below appear to be official press renders (claimed as such) of the two upcoming Microsoft Lumia flagships, the aforementioned Cityman (above) and ...

If Google indeed plans to keep its next two Nexus smartphones on the sidelines until October, there may not be much left to announce by then. Already, we (think we) know a great deal about the stock Android Marshmallow-powered LG and Huawei phones, with the former manhandled and rendered last week, and the latter following suit now. This isn’t the first time we’re getting convincing hints as to the external appearance of the alleged Nexus 6 sequel, but the photos floating around the interwebs today show something we haven’t seen before: an actual N6 2015 prototype, in all ...

The rumor mill has been clamoring with stories regarding a couple of new entries in the Nexus franchise this fall, and most tipsters seem convinced LG and Huawei will join forces with Google before long. The former manufacturer may return to finally upgrade the two-year-old Nexus 5, and we’ve just got the scoop on another big improvement. Besides adding a fingerprint scanner to the mix, no doubt upping the processing power and RAM ante, and likely revising the rear-facing camera, the second-gen Nexus 5 should also noticeably augment selfie performance. The mediocre 1.3 MP front sensor of ...

There were (are, and probably will be, until the official unveiling) a lot of rumors concerning Apple's 2015 smartphones. There were various, some concerning a strengthened chassis, some referring to a pink model (rose gold), and many others regarding Force Touch and other aspects of the phone. Some reports talked about a 12MP iPhone 6s camera (and iPhone 6s Plus), a bump from the 8MP found on current models, and today's rumor seems to confirm this. Of course, this is no official confirmation, as it comes from unnamed sources within the supply chain. Said anonymous person talked about a ...

Sony fans will be glad to hear that the Sony Xperia Z5 rumors are not stopping, which is usually a good indication that a phone is on its way. We've seen a lot of leaks in the past couple of weeks, including general hardware and aspect, a fingerprint scanner (oddly placed on the side), as well as a bold move (treat this one with skepticism) to set a new standard by bringing a 4K display to the handset. Today's report brings us a set of photographs allegedly depicting a Sony Xperia Z5 dummy unit (which should pretty much be identical to the real deal). The pictures come from China and the ...

When Motorola announced the Moto X Play on July 28 (together with the Style/Pure), many were disappointed that the manufacturer revealed no plans to make the Moto X Play available in the US. As the phone is making its way to retailers (and lucky early owners' hands), there was a rumor at the beginning of the month talking about a Verizon Droid Turbo 2, and, at that time, we thought that it might be the rebranded Moto X Play. According to a recent report, the Moto X Play will indeed make its way to the US; it will allegedly be the Verizon DROID Maxx 2. Renaming the same phone for different ...

HTC's 2015 flagship, the One M9, didn't manage to enjoy the success (of its predecessor) the company was hoping for. As a result, the company's financials aren't rosy at all, and we are all waiting to see what CEO Cher Wang was referring to when talking about a "hero" product (product could also mean something that's not a smartphone). So far, HTC's been consistent with its flagship, naming it One, One M8, One M9, and releasing it around MWC 2015. It would be safe to assume that the HTC One M10 would be landing around MWC 2016, but previous rumors talked about a late 2015 announcement of a ...

Update: If there was a need for a new render from a different angle, in order to blow away any doubts on the QWERTY slider bit, Evan Blass has got us covered with this latest render (at the bottom) The BlackBerry Venice managed to generate a lot of buzz, mainly because it would, according to many, bring the "both of both world", with Android on-board. According to the most recent Evan Blass leak, the BlackBerry Venice is not only real, but it is expected to become official in November, when it will be released on all four national US carriers. It is not yet clear what the BlackBerry ...

When it comes to the 2015 Nexus, nothing's certain. The internet claims there might be a 2015 Nexus phone made by LG, and there might be one made by Huawei as well, though this latter bit is getting thinner and thinner by the second. An initial, unofficial render, tried to depict the upcoming 2015 Nexus made by LG, and, later, a hands-0n image sort of confirmed the looks of it. ...and then this Huawei 2015 Nexus render came along, and turned everything upside down. Maybe there will indeed be two Nexus 5 phones this year, and the rumor mill claims the one with the smaller screen will be ...

Update: Eagle eyed readers have spotted, and confirmed, some of our suspicions. The image at the very bottom of the post depicts the Samsung Galaxy A8, and this particular phone has a double slot on the left edge. We might be looking at this in the picture above, or Samsung might be doing the same with the Note 5. Thanks @cinquetacche! No, we won't judge you if, at any point during today's upcoming Samsung Unpacked event, you'll have a deja vu. The rumor mill, reports, and leaks, have done a tremendous job in revealing what the South Koreans have up their sleeves concerning the Galaxy Note 5. Today's leak comes in a form of a comprehensive photo gallery purportedly depicting a dummy of the upcoming Galaxy Note 5, a dummy that would later be displayed in retailer locations and shop windows.
