Last year, we saw Android 4.2 deliver the long-awaited multi-user support the platform's gone without for so long. While it worked, there were a few problems keeping it from finding wider availability, like a lack of support for phones and reliance on the then-new 4.2 build. Well, since then Android 4.2 (and its follow-ups) have gotten a heck of a lot more prevalent, so why aren't we seeing more tablets offering multi-user capabilities? If we're to believe one new leak, Samsung could be nearly ready to bring its users such support, as revealed through in-development Galaxy Tab 3 firmware. ...

I know: that's a bait-y headline that begs for qualifiers, and we'll get to those in just a second. Before that, though, I'd like to apologize to those who've been waiting for our full review of the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. For those of you who've gotten lost in the avalanche of news since we took delivery on our own Tab 3 8.0 review unit, we unboxed the device a few weeks back - and then we immediately put it up against its closest Samsung-branded competitor, the Galaxy Note 8.0. We promised a review on the heels of that comparison, but then something significant happened: a Nokia Lumia 1020 ...

We can't all be like Taylor Martin, living it up with a 10-inch Galaxy Tab 3. Some of us need to hang out closer to the midrange, walking the line between the teensy tablets of the world and their supersized siblings. And you know what? That's fine with me. Join me as I take the wraps off the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, the device smack-dab in the middle of Samsung's new generation of Android tablets. These aren't high-end Galaxy Note devices (though a Note 8.0 does make a cameo in the video) but rather lifestyle-oriented tablets offering "more choice and consumer experiences." What does that mean? ...

The Galaxy Tab 3 lineup is nothing new. Samsung announced the Tab 3 7.0 all the way back in April, and followed that up with news of the Tab 3 8.0 and 10.1 three weeks ago. So, while the cat may be out of the bag concerning any hardware details, Samsung had yet to confirm details about just when we'd be able to get our hands on these tablets, and for how much. It helps us out with those today, sharing news that the three Galaxy Tab 3 models will go up for sale in the US on July 7. Just to refresh your memory a little, the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Marvell SoC, and ...

Last month, Samsung announced the first Galaxy Tab 3 model, a seven-inch tablet. Obviously, more Tab 3 options would follow, and at the time we heard rumors about a few other hardware configurations. One of those included an eight-inch model with some nice specs like an AMOLED screen. As we wait for official word, some new specs have leaked for the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, along with a possible render. Bad news first: this falls way short of those rumored specs. That means a regular old LCD screen (1280 x 800) and instead of a quad-core SoC, only a dual-core 1.5GHz component – no word on if ...

Rumors of a new family of Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets have been bouncing around for the better part of 2013. We've heard a lot about specs, as well as all the sizes Samsung might target for production. So far, there's been a lot of rumor and speculation, but today we finally start getting actual answers, though they don't arrive without some new rumors coming to fill the void. First off, Samsung has officially announced the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3. As rumors suggested, this is a relatively low-end tablet specs-wise, arriving with a low 1024 x 600 resolution and only a 1.2GHz dual-core SoC. The ...

An unusual bit of Galaxy S 4 news ended up on our desk earlier this week, when a Samsung exec claimed that, despite the regular GS4 only now just starting to go up for sale, Samsung was already preparing to follow it up with a ruggedized edition, offering a dust and waterproof construction. Was this guy getting a little confused about the company line, or could such a thing really be in our future? It's actually starting to sound pretty likely, now that The Wall Street Journal has chimed-in with reports that the phone could arrive as the Galaxy S 4 Active. While the GS4 Active would offer ...

The past several months have been rife with rumors about new Galaxy Tab hardware from Samsung, but have seemed a little uncertain with regard to the details. We've heard names like the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus thrown around, and checked out a render of uncertain origin. We're still trying to lock-down just what to expect from Samsung here, and now some new rumors arrive describing what we might see from both an 8-inch, as well as a 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 3. With the growing popularity of the Note series in tablet sizes, we've wondered what that would spell for the no-stylus Tab models. If the ...

Will we see some other Samsung tablets at MWC aside from the Galaxy Note 8.0? Possible, given that the company is, according to rumors, working on an entire Galaxy Tab 3 family, as we've recently learned. The codename "Santos" was attributed to an eight-inch model though the info was rather vague, with no model numbers, and it looks like a certain GT-P3200 has been benchmarked. While the screen could be a seven or an eight-inch one, the resolution appears to be 800 x 1280. The GT-P3200 runs Android 4.2.1 and has a processor with a peak frequency of 1.5GHz. There's no further information ...

Over the weekend, we heard about some possible new Samsung tablets on the horizon, including the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, and Galaxy Tab 3 Plus, along with model numbers for both WiFi-only and LTE variants of each. Now some imagery has emerged of just what may be the retail packaging for one of these tablets, but is it all it appears to be? The big question is whether or not this is a fake. The problem is, there are more than a few reasons to question its authenticity. The main one a lot of people seem to be noticing is the depiction of stock Android, rather than anything ...

There is little Samsung can do to surprise us with its Galaxy Note 8.0, confirmed to be present at MWC in Barcelona next month, and the star of recent leaks that not only speculate on the internals but seem to have all but confirmed the looks of the upcoming slate. Apparently Samsung has an entire Galaxy Tab 3 family of products in its pipeline; its future is very much related and depending on how well the Galaxy Note 8.0 will be received on the market. According to reports, there's a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, and a 10.1 in the works with the latter reportedly packing LTE capability. The ...
