Remember the Galaxy S4 Zoom? The camera with a phone attached? We reviewed the device and concluded that it has nothing in common with the Samsung Galaxy S 4, but, instead, it's a camera that has a Galaxy S4 mini attached to it. Nonetheless, we were surprised to see it perform very well from both a camera and a phone standpoint. Now AT&T is going the be the first US carrier to offer the S4 Zoom on its line-up. According to official wording, you'll be able to grab it starting Friday, November 8, and it will set you back either $25 per month on an AT&T Next installment agreement, or ...

The biggest question we were trying to answer since day-one with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is whether we are using a phone with a zoom-lens enabled camera, or a camera with a phone attached. Needless to say people were shocked, curious, and intrigued, to see us taking and placing calls on it. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is the last Samsung device announced at the Premiere 2013 London event that we’re reviewing. Check out our Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini reviews, to learn all about the other two Android phones announced in the UK. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, ...

Which is better: physical lens doing optical zoom, or the PureView technology? We want to find out in our Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom vs Nokia 808 PureView camera comparison below. We've got two fundamentally different approaches to imaging here. While the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom employs lens and physical zoom for getting closer to your subjects, the Nokia 808 PureView (and the Nokia Lumia 1020), are using a huge 41-megapixel sensor which gives you the power to crop towards the center of the image, hence selecting a portion of the entire canvas, for zoom. We'll be updating this post shortly ...

If you’re not paying attention to the details you might think that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is a Samsung Galaxy S 4, with a zoom lens. This is not true! The Zoom and the GS4 have a lot in common (like materials, overall design, software, etc.), but not that many as Samsung wants you to think. To be quite honest, the Zoom has more in common with the Galaxy Camera and the S4 mini. Actually, it’s an S4 mini with a zoom lens, but that wouldn’t have sounded that good in the marketing department. So who is the S4 Zoom for? If your shooting needs are limited to snapping a couple of shots ...

When the Samsung Galaxy Camera meets the Samsung Galaxy S 4, you get a Frankenstein phone which Samsung calls the Galaxy S 4 zoom. However, the company decided to go with the same naming and include this zoom-lens-enabled shooter-with-a-phone in the Galaxy S 4 line-up. Check out our quick comparison below to find out about how similar, and how different, at the same time, these two devices are. Despite being similarly named, there are more differences than similarities. We just wish the specs of the S4 would have been untouched and this could have been the perfect power-user-camera.

If the Nokia 808 PureView was considered by many to be a camera with a phone, we are now then right in calling the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom a phone with a camera. ...or vice versa. Anyways, both of these phones are built with different concepts and principles in mind. The PureView achieves lossless zoom by cropping towards the sensors 1:1 ratio, while the Galaxy S4 zoom simply extends its optical lenses so that you can achieve 10x optical zoom for your images. Let's see how the two stack up against each other!
