According to a recent leak, T-Mobile will be allegedly getting a Samsung-made Vibrant 4G smartphone, which in fact is just another Samsung Galaxy S variant, a refresh to the T-Mobile Vibrant we reviewed earlier. According to hear-say, the device will be able to deliver 4G HSPA+ speeds of 21Mbps on Magenta in addition to a front facing video camera offering T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik. Other than that, the handset is advertised to ship with Google's Android 2.2 Froyo platform, which, even if it's a step-up from the current Vibrant OS -- running Eclair -- is still one version number ...

The Samsung Vibrant 4G, headed to T-Mobile on February 23 according to rumors, was recently certified by Bluetooth SIG and WiFi Alliance, going by the model name SGH-T959V. The same Samsung-made model SGH-T959V was just cleared at FCC and we know it's the 4G version of the Vibrant on Magenta (the original T-Mobile Vibrant had the model number T959). So there we go, Bluetooth SIG, WiFi Alliance and now FCC, all approved the SGH-T959V. We just need to hold our breaths till last week of February but we're quite sure we'll see the device a couple of times before it's rumored official release. ...

T-Mobile will begin pushing the limits of its HSPA+ network next week, as the company has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant 4G, with its high-speed capabilities, will arrive on February 23. TmoNews tipped the rumored release date last month, and with a little over a week to go, the carrier has backed-up that prediction with a notification on its Facebook wall. You'll be able to get the phone a week from Wednesday, running about $150 after rebates and a two-year contract. As if all the different "flavors" of 4G weren't enough to confuse you when looking at WiMAX versus LTE versus ...

In this video we unbox the Samsung Galaxy S 4G that just became available on T-Mobile. The box includes the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, a wired headset, microUSB sync/charging cable, a microSD to SD adapter and wall charger. The box itself is very similar to the HTC HD7 and HTC HD2 boxes with a little inset full-color graphic edge around the sides. Stay tuned for the hardware and software tours coming up next.

We told you last week that the Samsung Galaxy S 4G is coming to T-Mobile on February 23 and it looks like there was more to the story than the rumor, as Magenta just announced officially that the smartphone will be available this month. The handset advertised to be "the fastest smartphone running on America's Largest 4G Network" is basically your classic T-Mobile Vibrant with an added front facing camera, larger -- 1650mAh -- battery and Google's Android 2.2 Froyo platform on it -- plus a copy of the movie Inception. Theoretical peak downloads of up to 21 Mbps are referred to in the Press ...

After a leaked document indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S 4G might arrive to T-Mobile on February 23, 2011, Magenta itself confirmed the device's availability for this month, at the beginning of February. That being said, the 4G refresh to the T-Mobile Vibrant is now up on the carrier's website and it's wearing a Coming Soon tag, facts which indicate the release is imminent. A front facing camera, a larger, 1650mAh battery and Google's Android 2.2 Froyo are the only differences it separates it from the Vibrant, in addition to 4G so if you need one (or all) of these, we're still finding ...

While the US has more than its fair share of Galaxy S flavors, we didn't get a pure "Samsung Galaxy S" among the choices. The carriers may be looking to simplify things in the future, as T-Mobile has announced that its new HSPA+ Samsung phone will be called the "Galaxy S 4G". We told you a little about the phone earlier today, which was identified then only as a "4G-capable Galaxy S", making us assume it would continue with the Vibrant line as the Vibrant 4G or somesuch. After all, that's how we'd been referring to the phone this far, and have even seen what appears to be an official ...

The Galaxy S 4G is the same phone as the T-Mobile Vibrant but with 4G over HSPA+. Not a bad deal considering how we gave the Vibrant pretty high marks in our review, and the addition of faster data speeds should make it even better, right? For those of you keeping an eye on this new smartphone, know that select Walmarts are now stocking it. It will set you back a reasonable $148.88 with a new two year agreement. Source: TMoNews

What is T-Mobile thinking? Today the Samsung Galaxy S 4G comes out, and the carrier has raised the price of the phone from the $150 it had posted on its Facebook page when confirming the phone's release, up to $200. That Facebook wall post read that "The Galaxy S 4G will be available for $149.99 with qualifying plan..." when the company placed it up on February 14. If you dig back through its Facebook postings, you'll see that message has since been edited to reflect the current, nearly-$200 price. We saw the phone at Walmart for around $150 last Friday, and if you check out its site ...

T-Mobile announced the Samsung Galaxy S 4G last week, promising to bring 21Mbps speeds to the Galaxy S experience by means of its HSPA+ network. Now a leaked T-Mobile document shows the Galaxy S 4G in preparation for a February 23 launch, confirming earlier rumors. Back when all indicators pointed to the phone being called the Vibrant 4G, we saw some information indicating a February 23 launch. Since then, T-Mobile's started referring to the phone as simply the Galaxy S 4G, making us think it may have changed it strategy in regards to the handset. The images revealed by TmoNews today ...
