While 2012 brought us Samsung's Android-running Galaxy Camera, so far 2013's fallen short of delivering a proper follow-up. Sure, we got the Galaxy NX, but with its hefty price tag and positioning for more prosumer users, it didn't quite fit the bill. Last month, however, an image turned up that seemed to be snapped by Samsung's EK-GC200 – and the first Galaxy Camera was the EK-GC100. Now this apparent successor is showing its face again, as we catch it in an Indonesian regulatory database. This guy managed to slip in under the radar a couple weeks back, and while we don't specifically ...

It's been about two months since Samsung first announced the Galaxy NX, its spiritual successor to last year's Galaxy Camera. While the Galaxy Camera was an Android-powered point-and-shoot that lacked the sort of imaging performance that we'd need to really get excited about such a device, the Galaxy NX really showed Samsung stepping up its game in a number of areas. The NX uses interchangeable lenses, for one, giving photographers much more control over their shots, and upgrades to a big APS-C 20.3-megapixel image sensor. Progress comes with a price, though, and we've been curious to ...

Imaging technologies have really come up front-and-center as key components of smartphone design; in just one week, the big one a lot of us have been waiting for should make its debut – the Nokia Lumia 1020 as the first non-Symbian 41-megapixel PureView phone. This focus is far from limited to Windows Phone, and Android OEMs have taken a number of big strides themselves in recent months. Just a few weeks back, we saw Samsung release a pair of camera-centric devices, the Galaxy S 4 Zoom and the Galaxy NX. The former, of course, is a smartphone gifted with a nice optical zoom, while the ...

We don't cover cameras and camcorders here on Pocketnow but we just couldn't leave London's Earls Court and Samsung's event without taking a brief look at what we believe that the Samsung Galaxy Camera should have been in the first place. This is our Samsung Galaxy NX hands-on. Yes, it's another Galaxy product, but the Samsung Galaxy NX will definitely appeal to photographers, as it is a nice dSLR shooter. The reason we're covering it is that we're happy to see Android, as a platform, power different electronic devices. For the spec-addicts among you, this camera runs Android 4.2.2, and ...

In the food service industry, when you're a server who's been slammed with too many customers and can't keep up with the demand, you're said to be "in the weeds." On a podcast, that same expression means something quite different. It means you've wandered so far from your intended topic (in this case, mobile technology) that you've found yourself in the far-flung wilderness talking about anything but (in this case, sports cars, British accents, and the adult film industry). But while we do spend a fair amount of time in OT land on today's Pocketnow Weekly, we still manage to get some tech ...

We went into Samsung's event today having already heard about the company's new GS4-series Androids, but we knew much less about the Galaxy NX. We only first saw the camera one week ago, and heard rumored specs like a 20-megapixel image sensor. Today, Samsung made its second full-on Android-based camera official, announcing the Galaxy NX. So, why isn't this the Galaxy Camera 2? Well, it really does make some big departures from last year's model, and the introduction of support for interchangeable lenses helped elevate this device up to the ranks of Samsung's NX line of digital cameras. ...
