There's still plenty we don't know about Samsung's Galaxy Note III, but the sparse rumors that have arrived to date have been pretty split over the issue of the phone's display size. Now that the Galaxy S IV has moved up into the five-inch range, it only follows that the Note would grow in order to more cleanly differentiate itself from the GS4, but just how big will it be? So far, we've heard both 5.9 inches and 6.3 inches tossed around as potential sizes. While the former has been the number put forth most recently, today the latter is sounding a little more likely, thanks to the ...

Tomorrow's the big day. March 14. Now sure, if you're a math fan you're already excited about the opportunity to celebrate your favorite irrational constant, but this year in particular, the rest of us have reason to look forward to the fourteenth as well, with Samsung running its big Unpacked event. Short of out and saying it, the company's done pretty much everything it can to confirm that this will be the grand unveiling of the Galaxy S IV, the company's 2013 Android flagship. That's going to be great to hear, and we're itching for the opportunity to confirm the oh, so many details ...

We know, it's hard to focus on anything but the Galaxy S IV for the moment, and that situation's not likely to change until Samsung makes the phone official Thursday evening. Still, try and switch gears with us for a moment here, as some new rumors are once again returning to a subject we were talking about just last week, the display on the Galaxy Note III. Last time, we were focused on size, with claims arriving that the Note III's display would be a 5.9-incher, rather than the 6.3-inch component that had previously been suggested. Besides that, though, that info also arrived to suggest ...

It's been a little while since we had an opportunity to talk about the Galaxy Note III, since all the Samsung rumors as of late have been dominated by the Galaxy S IV. When we were talking about it, though, a lot of the focus seemed to be on what Samsung might be planning for the Note III's display. After all, the Note II was bold enough to grow an already large screen, so might Samsung be planning the same sort of trick for the Note III? A new rumor says "yes," but the Note III might not be quite as large as we'd been hearing. Previously, the number that had been tossed around was 6.3 ...

I'm a little worried about Samsung. Not "very" worried, mind you, but after hearing about some of the company's upcoming products, looking back on what it's offered over the course of the past year, and considering the recent success its smartphones and tablets have been seeing, it's all enough to make me start questioning some of Samsung's product decisions. You might think that success would cause a company to really look inward, to try and divine just what it did that was so popular, and then extrapolate from there to lay out a course for the future. There may be an aspect of that in ...

There's a story going around today making some claims about the rumored Galaxy Note III, and what kind of hardware it might feature. Just what's being said, and how much faith can we put in it? The original reporting comes from The Korea Times, which claims that it's learned from unnamed Samsung officials that the Galaxy Note III will feature a 6.3-inch display and one of the just-announced eight-core Exynos 5 Octa SoCs. We've heard that 6.3-inch part a couple times before, and just as much now as then, it's a little hard to believe. Huawei's Ascent Mate is already gigantic to the point of ...

Last week we fielded some rumors that Samsung would finally introduce some of its new display technology for the Galaxy S IV, supposedly resulting in a well-neigh unbreakable screen and possibly even being outright flexible. Today, we also heard some rumors about the Galaxy Note III's screen, claiming that it would take a big step up in size to 6.3 inches. The Verge has the ear of a source apparently within Samsung's ranks who has a little to say about both these rumors, and it might not be the news you were expecting. As for the GS4's screen, this contact, which The Verge describes as ...

Samsung pulled off a neat trick with the Galaxy Note II, providing the phone with a slightly larger screen than its predecessor without making that handset itself appreciably larger. A new report out of Korea suggests that Samsung may continue pushing the boundaries of just how large a display it can get away with for its stlyus-based phablet, claiming that the Galaxy Note III could feature a 6.3-inch whopper. At the end of a lengthier story about Samsung's renewed focus on OLED technology, as opposed to LCD-based display, The Korea Times tosses in this rumor that the Note III will see its ...
