In case you need more rumors to kick your week off, here's an alleged Samsung Galaxy Note III launch date tip: September 4. On one hand, this date seems to fall nicely in place with IFA 2013, and IFA is the place where Samsung usually unveils the Note phablet. On the other hand, we here at Pocketnow, speculated about the fact that, since the Galaxy S, and S II were MWC phones, and the S III got its own event, Samsung might do the same with the Note. The original Note and Note II were IFA phablets, the Note III might get a separate event. However, today's report seems to have it on good ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we go through how the custom Google Edition ROMs for the HTC One and Galaxy S 4 are already leaked, and we also go through HTC's launch of the Glamour red variant of the One, even though it's not perfect news. Samsung is next as we have more Galaxy S III leaks now expecting a variant with an LCD display for some reason. T-Mobile follows as some press invites hint to something very bold making its way to the company. Skype later makes the news due to their video messaging service, even if we don't think it'll be hot. We end today's show talking about all the ...

Samsung announced the Note II at last year's IFA in Berlin and is expected to unveil the Note III at the same show in September. However, if the Galaxy S III is any indication (the first Galaxy S unveiled outside of MWC), the Note III might get a separate event, but that's still up for debate. According to a recent report from Korea, the Samsung Galaxy Note III might arrive with an LCD screen. We're heavily relying on automated translation (so there might be a language barrier here), but the report claims that the Note III will also be available with the classic S-AMOLED option. Market ...

Rumors about Samsung's alleged sequel to the Galaxy Note II (above) have yet to converge upon a unified description of the phablet's hardware. We've heard a number of ideas put forth for what SoC that Note III might run, as well as for just how large a display Samsung might be thinking about. Numbers like 6.3 inches and 5.9 inches have been mentioned, in line with the company's new Mega-series models, but the latest Note III rumor to arrive suggests that any size gains could be much more modest. At least, that's the impression that tipster @evleaks has, who posted to Twitter that he's ...

We've already seen imagery leak of what's supposed to be Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note III, but it's been notoriously difficult to gauge the legitimacy of some of these finds; earlier this month, some potential pics surfaced, but growing suspicion suggested they might be more like Galaxy Mega 6.3 development hardware, instead. Today, we've got a new contender, but will it finally instill us with faith that we're looking at the real deal? We're not so sure. First up, check out that crazy-thin bezel – that looks like it could even best the GS4. But we're not going to let a tiny bezel ...

What evidence have we seen so far for Samsung's next high-end phablet, the Galaxy Note III? There's been plenty of talk, sure, but some of the recent pictures purporting to be the Note III raised enough questions to have us doubting what they really showed. We also saw the name "Galaxy Note III" appear in a document on a Kazakhstani Samsung site, tied to a model number, but Samsung quickly edited that away. Now that model number – or at least something close to it – is surfacing again, this time attached to an image on Picasa. That doc referred to the GN3 as Samsung's model SM-N9000. ...

Yesterday, we brought you some images of a device purporting to be the in-development Galaxy Note III, with what looked like a big six-inch screen. Today, that's joined by a new picture, apparently showing the Note III next to a couple other phones. No soon has it hit the scene, though, that we're hearing claims that it's a fake (or at least being misrepresented) and what we're really looking at is the Galaxy Mega 6.3. Does that theory hold up to scrutiny? GSM Arena prepared the lovely analysis of the new image above, using known measurements of that Nokia handset to identify the screen ...

There's absolutely no doubt that a Samsung Galaxy Note II refresh is arriving this year. So far IFA was the place where the manufacturer announced its phablets, but Samsung might move away from the show. It did move away from MWC for the Galaxy S III. A Samsung Galaxy Note III prototype leak tries to depict the upcoming device. There aren't many details aside from the fact that we're looking at a huge screen with relatively small bezel. The resolution is reportedly Full HD, just as we'd expect. Let the pictures do the talking and you let us know what you think. If the previous iterations ...

There's no shortage of new hardware announcements this morning, and we've brought you news of the latest devices from ASUS, Acer, and Samsung. While Samsung went public with its Galaxy Tab 3 hardware, we're probably even more interested in the company's upcoming phones. A whole bunch of them, including the Galaxy Note III, may just have been inadvertently confirmed, thanks to Samsung's Kazakhstani site. The list has since been edited, but just until recently had been including models like the Galaxy Note III, GS4 Mini, and GS4 Zoom. More than just offer names, it also included model ...

Then it's all about the iPhone 5S as it seems that the display on this device will have more pixels than the current one. The Samsung Galaxy Note III follows as it could adopt some optical image stabilization as part of the camera technology included. LG is next as the company has released the white variant of the Nexus 4 ahead of the rumored launch. While upcoming Samsung models like the Galaxy S 4 Mini or GS4 Active certainly have our interest, when it comes to really high-end gear – the sort of phones worth waiting in line for – the next big Samsung entry looks like it will be the Galaxy Note III. Rumors have been all over this guy, with the latest talking about the killer camera the phablet could end up with. Now we turn our attention to processing power for a moment, with some new thoughts on the Note III's SoC. About a month ago, we were talking about the Note III running an Exynos 5 Octa, but that same rumor mentioned 3GB of ...

Last we heard the Samsung Galaxy Note III was claimed to have the same Galaxy S 4-esque design. Today, Samsung Galaxy Note III camera rumors popped up. According to the report, the phone maker is trying to bring some really neat features to the Note II follow-up. As usual, your usual skeptical hat is needed. A "versatile camera module" is going to allegedly be featured on the Galaxy Note III. Anti-shake technology and shutters are mentioned as the South Korean manufacturer is looking to introduce optical-image-stabilization (OIS) features. Another, even more interesting part of the report, ...

Ok, now forget them! However, get your skeptical suit on. According to more rumors, this time, based on insider info, Samsung will release the Note III with a design similar to the Galaxy S 4 (and Note II, and Galaxy S III). The flexible display rumors and the probable metal body hear-say have been debunked, by more rumors. The report continues with some specs we'll supposedly see on the next Note phablet, ...

At Pocketnow, we have a responsibility to try the new, the fresh, and the weird - and that latter swamp is exactly the one Managing Editor Anton D. Nagy waded into with his recent review of the ASUS Fonepad - the tablet with an earpiece. Or the phone with a tablet screen. Whatever you want to call it, we've covered it - and Tony has some thoughts about using a seven-inch smartphone in this edition of one of your favorite tech podcasts. After we clear the giant-phone convo, we've got more to say. Lots more. And, doubtless to the relief of thousands, very little of it involves Samsung's ...

Just like Samsung's upcoming tablet designs, the last few months have been rife with rumors of the next Galaxy Note phablet. While we had heard plenty, that all got tossed a curve ball last month when Samsung announced its new Galaxy Mega models; were these the giants that some of those Note III rumors had actually been discussing? With those now public, we're back on the trail of the Note III, with new rumors about specs and a number of prototype designs. Now, there's one big caveat to make about these specs: the source which provided them also had a picture purporting to show off the new ...

Despite of how much we'd like this to become reality we should treat this with a large dose of skepticism right from the start. Now that we've got this out of the way, a recent report, based on "Samsung insider" information, talks about how the South Korean manufacturer is allegedly "worried" about its design and build quality after seeing the success of the HTC One. That same anonymous source claims knowledge of a revamped Galaxy Note III, to be made out of some sort of metal, probably aluminum, while also ditching the S III, Note II, and S 4 design guidelines. The refresh is expected to ...

What do we know about the Galaxy Note III? We've heard about some potential screen sizes (though we're now second-guessing that info upon learning about some other big non-Note Galaxy models), and we've looked into what the choices Samsung made with the Galaxy S 4 might tell us about its plans for the Note III. Now a new rumor is suggesting the Note III could debut some new Samsung camera software. Supposedly, The Note III will be used by Samsung to launch its "S Orb" software, the company's take on Google's Photo Sphere. We're hard-pressed to come up for a reason why Samsung feels ...

Upcoming Samsung smartphones can never seem to shake rumors that they could be the models to premiere some of Samsung's flexible display technology. Samsung's been previewing its work on such flexible OLED components at trade shows over the years, and everyone's been wondering when the company will get around to finally commercializing them. One idea has been that Samsung would start small, and rather than introducing a full-on bendable phone, might market such display panels as being "unbreakable." That popped-up early on in the rumors for the Galaxy S 4, but didn't come to pass. The very ...

Here's the thing about new smartphone launches: no one's ever satisfied. And I don't just mean in terms of direct satisfaction; sure, some of us aren't exactly blown away by the Galaxy S 4 in terms of how it measures up to the competition, but most everyone agrees it's at least a worthy successor to the Galaxy S III. That uneasy consensus, though, doesn't keep us from daydreaming about the next flagship smartphone in the Galaxy pipeline: the rumored Galaxy Note III. Many will say this smartphone salivation is premature. After all, we just reviewed the current king of phablets, the Galaxy ...

After seeing the looks and specs of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 we made a bold prediction regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note III in our Pocketnow Live show: since the S 4 looks almost identical to the S III, we're betting Samsung will utilize these design guidelines to make the Note III look almost identical to the Note II (which is following the outer aspect of the S III). History also teaches us that the Note usually comes with a spec-bump from that year's S-Phone but what exactly does Samsung have in mind, or whether they'll prove us right or wrong, is yet unknown... to us. However, some ...
