A few hours back, we were talking about Samsung's new affinity for products bearing the “Neo” name and mentioned the Galaxy Note 3 Neo that we'd been hearing so much about lately. Or at least – we had been, but then about a week ago, the news suddenly dried up. We thought we might be looking at an imminent launch, and then the date January 27 in some press renders sure had us thinking that's when Samsung might make its announcement, but Monday came and went without a peep. As it turns out, we only had slightly longer to wait, and tonight we see Samsung start going official with the ...

By the looks of things, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Neo seems nearly ready to launch. The MWC initially appeared to be a decent possibility for a launch announcement, but with those new renders mentioning a January 27 date, the phablet could very well go official by early next week. But once it’s finally out there, just where will this Note II/Note 3 hybrid of sorts be available? According to Samsung, it may not be quite as widespread as we’d like, with the company confirming certain nations that specifically will not be getting the Note 3 Neo. In a pair of separate statements, Samsung ...

"Our revels now are ended, Kirk." That's a quote from Star Trek VI, paraphrasing a line from Shakespeare's The Tempest. In the latter instance (minus the "Kirk" bit) it's a conceit of sorts, an admission that the play is a falsehood - and an observation that so, perhaps, is life. In the former example it's a wisecrack from a Klingon bent on shooting our favorite captain's ship out from under him. In both cases, it's a kind of farewell. And in today's example, it's also a goodbye - to the old times. That's a pretty dramatic way of saying that we're finally, officially past the post-CES ...

Last month we were talking about Samsung's interest in releasing a new Galaxy Note model, the Note 3 Lite. Supposedly, this would be a slightly smaller, lower-cost alternative to the Note 3 proper, while still offering some improvements over the old Note II. More recently, we've head that the phablet would instead launch as the Note 3 Neo, got a much more thorough understanding of its hardware (including an unusual six-core SoC), and checked out some real life images comparing it to the Note 3 itself. As we wait for Samsung to make the phone official, we're learning about at least one ...

We’d like to thank you all for participating in our question of the day, and we love your feedback so much, that we decided that since we can’t respond to ever single one of your comments, we should at least feature a couple in a weekly video. This is the Pocketnow Daily Recap. Sadly, for the sake of ...

Watch today's Pocketnow Daily as we talk about Sony's new strategy to attend the US market, which the company chose to abandon just a couple of months ago, aside from more rumors of a Sony Windows Phone as well. Then we go through Samsung's new leaks of Android 4.4 KitKat for the Galaxy S 4, and some disappointing facts about it. Meizu and Ubuntu are next as new leaks prove the MX3 to be the next Ubuntu mobile phone. Apple takes the stage after that since its new patent proves some Optical Image Stabilization love for the iPhone 6. We end today's show talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note ...

Back in December we had been hearing about Samsung's interest in developing a lower cost phablet alternative to the Galaxy Note 3, and rumors suggested that a so-called Galaxy Note 3 Lite was in development with aims for an MWC launch. This week, we finally started getting a better sense of what to expect, with leaks revealing the phone's hardware details as well as a new name: the Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Today, we get what may be our first look at this handset, pictured next to the larger Note 3 itself. While those December rumors suggested Samsung would ditch an OLED panel for an LCD, this ...
