You'd wonder how smart a smartwatch really is if you really can't pair it with more devices than just one, and ever since Samsung launched the Galaxy Gear, one of our biggest complaints was that we simply couldn't use it on most of the existing and popular Galaxy smartphones in the market. Android 4.3 is required for the Galaxy Gear to work, and that's rather unfortunate since Samsung hasn't really been famous for timely updates in the last two years. If you wanted to use that Galaxy Gear, you were really forced to buy a Galaxy Note 3 along with it, and some people really only wanted the ...

The Galaxy S 4 may be the Samsung Android getting the bulk of the market's attention, but it's far from alone as a 2013 addition to the company's lineup. Lately, we've been talking about a whole bunch of new Samsung devices, from those that have already gone official, like the two Galaxy Mega models, to ones that remain the stuff of rumors, like the Galaxy S 4 Active and S 4 Zoom, which we just heard of yesterday. Now we get some idea of when many of these models could arrive, thanks to a leaked list of launch dates. This data may be specific to European releases, but at least it might ...

Apparently Samsung wants to create a phone and/or tablet that's perfect for every person on the face of the planet -- even if that takes 7 billion different models. Okay, that may be a bit of an over-statement, but honestly! Samsung, can't you do something about your runaway screen sizes? The Galaxy Note II has a diagonal screen measurement of 5.5-inches. That's a pretty big "phone". It's so big, in fact, that we had to coin a new term to describe it: the "phablet" -- part phone, part tablet. It's a strange beast, but it ends up working pretty well, as long as your hands are big enough. We ...

It seems Android smartphone superstar Samsung won't be happy until it offers a Galaxy device at every possible screen size and price point. That's a trend we've been commenting on for a while, but we're not talking about brand dilution or new product categories today. The Galaxy product line seems in no danger of foundering under the weight of its wide selection, and the latest products out of Seoul aren't exactly blazing a new trail in form factor. They're phablets -phone/tablet hybrids- through and through. We're talking about the new behemoths on the Android playground, natch: the duo ...

We've been hearing a lot about the Samsung Galaxy Mega lately but for those in the market for a jumbo-phone the South Korean manufacturer has just announces its latest additions to the Galaxy line-up, the Mega with two screen sizes: 6.3-, and 5.8-inches. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 packs a 6.3-inch screen with HD resolution, 1.7GHz Dual Core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8 and 16GB Internal Memory variants (expandable via microSD cards to 64GB), eight-megapixel main shooter in addition to the 1.9-megapixel webcam. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and has a 3,200mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy ...

Last week, we heard that Samsung might be expanding beyond the confines of its Galaxy Note lineup when it comes to the company's phablet offerings, and could be planning to release a pair of so-called Galaxy Mega handsets, measuring-in with 5.8 and 6.3-inch screens. We had little but those sizes to go on earlier, but now some new info on the pair has arrived, attempting to describe their hardware in a little more detail. As you should have been able to tell from the pic accompanying the earlier news (and up top again for your convenience), the Mega 5.8 will be a dual-sim DUOS model. ...

Sometimes you just have to schedule a podcast a few hours before a major news event, and as a result you've got to scramble to come up with some valid-sounding speculation about just how useful a Facebook Phone could really be. It's not like we haven't tossed this notion around before, but doing it on the air, off-the-cuff, imbues our lives with a certain energy, a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will. Or even if you won't. Whatever; we have a good time riffing. You'll listen and like it! Ahem. All that, plus some chat on just how big a copycat LG's Optimus G Pro is - and how well it does ...
