When are we going to see the Motorola Droid RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD arrive? When the manufacturer and Verizon announced the phones, we didn't get a real specific window as to when to expect them. Since then, we've tried to work out the puzzle on our own a little, looking to news of an October launch of the RAZR HD in Germany as a sign that the US retail debut would be sometime between now and then. A new rumor, however opens the possibility that these two could be seeing some last minute delays, supposedly due to antenna problems. According to sources within the companies, concerns over ...

Motorola revealed the Droid RAZR HD, RAZR HD Maxx, and RAZR M to the world nearly two weeks ago, but for a couple of those models, we've yet to get the full story on how they'll arrive. The RAZR M may be up for sale already, but Motorola didn't have much in the way of specifics to share about the Droid RAZR HDs. As we await official word, the company has already started confirming availability of their international cousins; can we read anything into the US launch from those dates? Motorola plans to start selling the RAZR HD (dropping "Droid") in Germany next month. Since the manufacturer ...

Motorola announced three new phones in New York City today just after Nokia announced a couple new phones a few blocks away. We've got a few demos of the new Droid RAZR models on video below, so click on to see the Droid RAZR M, Droid RAZR HD, and Droid RAZR Maxx HD in action. The RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD are extremely similar. There are no markings to distinguish between which is which. We had to snap on the macro lens and get really really close just to see the difference in thickness. It's not noticeable at all when holding the devices. The RAZR M feels great in the hand too and doesn't ...

Today Motorola announced a rejuvenation of their latest premium brand, Droid RAZR. It was about one year ago that the company announced the reincarnation of the once-ubiquitous RAZR brand with the original Droid RAZR. It was a bit of an experiment, as the smartphone-buying population has changed from the featurephone-buying population of ten years ago. But luck was on their side, and today, the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX are two of the hottest selling smartphones in the world of Android. And for good reason: they have great hardware, great battery life, and "thinner-than-the-other-guy" ...

After a surprise introduction from Google's Executive Chairman, Eric Schmidt, waxing nostalgic on just how far smartphones have come, Motorola announced its new series of Droid RAZR Androids. First off, we've got the rumored RAZR HD, the "most compact big-screen smartphone". It's got a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD screen with supposedly 85% more color saturation than an iPhone 4S. It packs a 2500mAh battery, with 16 hours of rated talk time. Despite the large-ish battery, it's only 8.4 millimeters thick. The phone's powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core SoC, has a gigabyte of RAM, NFC support, and an ...

Today Motorola will announce two new phones, neither of which will feature an edge-to-edge display as was previously rumored. An image leaked by @evleaks shows the RAZR HD (on right), looking very similar to the Atrix HD which hit AT&T recently. Like the Atrix HD, we expect the RAZR HD to feature a 720p 4.5" ColorBoost display, powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM, all on top of Android 4.0. Like the original RAZR, the RAZR HD will feature Verizon LTE connectivity, plus a super-thin profile. The RAZR M is expected to be a refreshed version of the original ...

A lot of big product announcements are coming up over the next several weeks, and if you've been keeping up with news of them all, you'll remember that Motorola has a joint event with Verizon scheduled for next Wednesday, September 5. If you've ever wondered what these kind of usually press-only shindigs are like, Motorola is extending a chance for some of its fans to attend the event, as well, with a new contest the company is running through its Facebook page. Obviously, you'll need to be in the general area of New York City, where Motorola's event will take place, in order to enter; ...

We're waiting for Motorola and Verizon to get around to finally announcing the Droid RAZR HD, the successor to the first RAZR and RAZR Maxx. Based on an invitation the two companies sent out, it sounds likely that they'll finally unveil the phone on September 5. However, a newly-leaked Verizon document doesn't mention the RAZR HD anywhere, but the Motorola Droid M, instead; just what's going on here? BGR, which published the leak, seems to think that this Droid M is the RAZR sequel we've been hearing about as the RAZR HD. That just doesn't make any sense to us, though, since we've seen the ...

The Motorola (Droid) RAZR HD had no shortage of rumors and leaks in the last couple of weeks and we took almost every opportunity to talk about them in our Pocketnow Weekly Podcast. The latest rumor is that there will me no MAXX version of the phone whenever Motorola unveils it (probably on September 5). A total number of five instruction videos have been uploaded to a YouTube account with the name Motorola XT926 and no mention of the RAZR HD moniker. The device seems to have a user interface similar to the one on the Atrix HD as well as on-screen Android buttons a la Galaxy Nexus. Check ...

The Motorola RAZR HD has been very active posing for the camera recently. As with the case of the RAZR and the RAZR MAXX, with its extra large battery, the RAZR HD is expected to have a slightly fatter twin, the RAZR MAXX HD. According to recent reports, both HD follow-ups to the RAZR and RAZR MAXX are likely to be announced in October. However, the report is very thin and goes on mentioning that even this October timeframe, hinted by "sources", is not set in stone: it may all depend on how well the current RAZR and RAZR MAXX devices perform on the market until that likely announcement ...

Feeling a little déjà vu? We just got to look at the international version of the Motorola RAZR HD yesterday, and early today shared some leaked press shots of the upcoming Sony Xperia SL. Today, though, some brand-new imagery arrives, giving us our best look yet at the Verizon version of that Motorola – the Droid RAZR HD – as well as what seem to be the first in-the-wild pics of the Xperia SL. The new Droid RAZR HD shots really highlight the texture Motorola gets with its Kevlar backplates. We're curious why the source behind these images chose to black-out "Verizon" on the back ...
