Here's an interesting screenshot for you: it's the Verizon Wireless' Pre-MAP (minimum advertised price) and it features some interesting phones coming hopefully soon to the carrier. There are four phones listed and among them there's the HTC Vigor we saw recently. First things first: there's the Motorola MOTXT875, also known as the Motorola Droid Bionic. Thanks to Motorola's CEO, Sanjay Jha, we know the phone will only come in September but it's always good to know Verizon is in the know. Next up are two HTC phones; first one is a certain ADR6330 which we don't know nothing about but given ...

Let's put an end to some of this Motorola Bionic release date guesswork here and now. No less than Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha discussed the Bionic in a call to investors today, stating unequivocally that the Bionic will hit stores this September. Most recently, we heard rumors that the Bionic wouldn't get here until September, but were awaiting something a little more official; we'd feel better hearing from Verizon, as well, but otherwise this is about as official as you can get. Earlier, August 4 came up as a potential release date, and as recent as earlier this week we've found support for ...

If everything we've seen lately pointed towards an August 4 launch for the Motorola Droid Bionic, it now appears that recently birds started chirping another song, and this time it's got "early September" in the lyrics. The early September timeframe allegedly comes from Motorola representatives that are telling Verizon people to expect the device around then. The picture above is purportedly the Droid Bionic in all of its splendor and it is rumored to sport the same 4.3-inch TFT display with a 540x960 qHD resolution one would find on the Droid X2 and Droid 3. We'll find out more exactly in ...

Several weeks ago we learned of a potential release date for Motorola's rejuvenated Bionic on Verizon. We've been seeing a lot of launch-related things pop up since then, but haven't seen the original August 4 date – or any date, for that matter – repeated since. Sure, there have been clues, like the apparently viral Twitter account that posted a count-down until the expected release, but we'd been itching for something in the way of some more tangible verification. We may have just what we've been looking for now, with the leak of a document for Verizon retailers, repeating the August 4 ...

With an official page live, the Motorola Droid Bionic is expected to launch on August 4 and thanks to a couple of accessory pictures we even had a close look at the back of the phone. It appears though that some other official accessories have been confirmed thanks to a blurry shot of an official slide. The image above was repotedly taken at the Verizon earnings report and speaks of the accessories for the upcoming phone. As you can see, the laptop dock (a la Atrix 4G), full Bluetooth keyboard, and HD webtop dock are in. It's yet unknown whether these docks are new, or just the good old ...

It's very clear that Motorola's Droid Bionic is on its way to finally being available at retail, but there's been very little in the way of pinning-down just when it will land. The one rumored launch date that's seem to stuck has been August 4, which showed up once in a leaked screenshot from earlier this month. It's as good a date to look forward to as any, but we'd really like to see something else backing it up before putting to much faith in it. Well, now there's some new evidence that looks to reinforce that August 4 date, but how reliable is it? Since the beginning of this week, ...

The latest rumors talk about a possible August 4 launch date for the Motorola Droid Bionic as the first ad featuring the phone has recently surfaced. There's even a dedicated page up at Verizon but no details are made public, while Amazon already outs accessories for the upcoming phone. If that August 4 date is anything close to reality it's just normal for retailers to prepare accessories. If you take a look at Amazon's listing you'll see a car dock and a desktop dock that will gladly hold your phone. While the car dock is nothing out of the ordinary, the desktop dock pictured above ...

If we're to believe the leaked release info we took a look at a week ago, Verizon should be preparing to launch the Motorola Droid Bionic in a little under a month, on August 4. Initially expected to arrive in the spring, the smartphone's release was delayed in order to take things back to the drawing board and make it a more competitive model. While the new release date is still just a rumor, things are clearly heating up for the Bionic, with Verizon adding a new landing page for the Bionic to its website. Drop off your email, and you can arrange to be contacted with news regarding the ...

The long, troubled road that would bring the Motorola Droid Bionic to market is nearing its last leg; after heading back to the shop for re-tooling, the smartphone has reemerged, putting in an FCC appearance, and showing up in a few blurrycam photos. We've also heard about a rumored release date, leaving one of the last missing pieces of the puzzle to be some official promotional material for the newly-reborn Android. Well, speak of the devil, because This Is My Next just got its hands on a Best Buy flyer for the Droid Bionic. In one of the more aggressive promotions we've seen, the flyer ...

The Motorola Droid Bionic has a story of its own and recently, after being re-affirmed for a summer release, it has passed by FCC with its LTE radio en-route to Verizon. If there's any truth in the screenshot above, Verizon is planning to launch the Motorola Droid Bionic on August 4. Taken into consideration that the phone was shown-off at this year's CES, after seven months, it will be finally launched, in its redesigned state. While there's nothing certain about the dates mentioned above, it definitely is a good indication of things to come (aside from another confirmation of the Droid 3 ...

Near the start of June, we got to see what appeared to be the newly-revamped Motorola Droid Bionic, back from getting some revisions to make it a more competitive smartphone. Verizon's been pretty quiet about the Android's fate, but Motorola's managed to provide updates, most recently announcing that the handset is on-track for a summer release. A milestone towards that release may have just been passed, with the arrival of FCC documentation for a phone that looks very much like it could be the new Bionic. As is no surprise from a Motorola FCC filing, there are very few distinguishing ...

We see so many smartphones pass by, whether from early leaks, FCC filings, or finally formal announcements from manufacturers and carriers, it can be hard to keep track of what phones are expected to arrive, when. Motorola and AT&T wanted to remind you that some of their models are still in the works, updating us as to when to expect them. Verizon and Motorola pulled the plug on the Droid Bionic months ago, sending it back to the shop to be re-tooled for a later release. Last we heard from Motorola, it wanted to get the Bionic back out sometime this summer, but there haven't been any ...

Earlier today, we got a look at a series of images of an unknown Motorola Android, which arrived with speculation that it might be the new-and-improved Droid Bionic, after its release was initially put on-hold to re-tool the phone's design and its hardware capabilities. Now some new images of the phone have come to our attention, clearly identifying it as the Bionic. In late May, we saw some NenaMark results for a phone claiming to be the Bionic, running Android 2.3.3. In the short time that's passed since then, it looks like progress has been made on the smartphone, as we can now see it ...

NenaMark -- an Android benchmark for hardware accelerated graphics -- is hard at work giving us juicy details about upcoming smartphones -- as it had in the past with the Motorola Droid X2, the Sony Ericsson Azusa and the Verizon Motorola Droid 3. A Verizon-branded Droid Bionic made by Motorola just showed up on the benchmark page and we sure hope it's the new Droid Bionic and not the one spotted and showed off at CES. Specs-wise, it seems to feature the same (important) internals like the Droid 3: it appears to run a 1GHz processor (probably a dual-core Texas Instruments) and PowerVR ...

The Droid Bionic for Verizon, which is now delayed until the summer to allow for "several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience", will feature a boot animation that includes the "Red Eye" that has been a hallmark of the Motorola Droid series of Android devices. As a reminder, the Droid Bionic is going to ship with a Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, and will have a large 4.3" qHD display. It'll also have an HDMI output that will be capable of beaming full 1080p video to a flat panel or projector. It's also going to be LTE-capable, making it the third smartphone on Verizon to ...

During a call with investors to discuss company earnings, Motorola took some questions regarding the recent change in fate for the Droid Bionic, confirming some rumors and letting us know more about what we can expect from its re-tooling and eventual release. The company has confirmed that the decision wasn't solely due to problems with the Bionic, but also because it was starting to be seen as a second-tier phone to another being worked on (presumably the Targa, as we've heard rumored). Motorola says that it "brought in some of the features" of that phone to the Bionic, but it's still not ...

The Motorola Droid Bionic was introduced with the occasion of this year's CES and we even got a hands-on with the device. Then, despite the fact that the smartphone has not been cancelled, but only delayed, pages were pulled from the Motorola website. There's a page now up on Motorola's website which could fool many if you consider the date at the top (January 5). If you ignore the date and the first paragraph, you'll find out that the Droid Bionic will launch this summer on Verizon. Why all the wait? "Based on compelling feedback since the show, we are incorporating several enhancements ...

Even after Motorola responded to all the rumors surrounding the supposed cancellation of its Droid Bionic, we've been left with plenty of questions. Though the company stated that the phone was still on-track for a release, albeit a delayed one, it didn't provide much in the way of an explanation for the bad situation the Bionic had found itself in. After all, it's not usual for a phone to be in late-phase testing, with a rumored release date under a month away, only to be shelved so it could receive "enhancements". Last we heard, Motorola was still prepping the Droid for a release this ...

Lots of gossip has been circulating in smartphone forums about Motorola's Droid Bionic on Verizon, concerning the fate of the unreleased smartphone. Supposedly, issues that came up during testing caused enough concern that the Bionic was to be mothballed in favor of the Motorola Targa. Another group argued that these reports were overblown, that any problems that manifested weren't out of the ordinary for a new phone, and that talk of cancellation was an overreaction. Now Motorola has set the record straight, confirming the phone's release sometime this summer. In its statement, Motorola ...

Up until this point, things have been looking pretty good for Motorola's Droid Bionic. It was on-track for a Q2 release, and we had even seen it pop up in a few databases. Apparently not all has been well, however, with whispers in smartphone circles talking about problems with the phone, culminating in claims that the Bionic may be cancelled altogether, to be replaced largely by the Motorola Targa. The dual-core Bionic, essentially an Atrix-lite, has been reportedly developing numerous issues during testing, causing insiders with access to that testing data to begin to doubt whether or ...

If you somehow had doubts about the upcoming Droid-branded smartphones coming to Verizon soon this will probably convince you as the entire Droid line-up was pictured while listed in the carrier's system. We've got the Droid Bionic, -- which is your Motorola Atrix 4G with less RAM -- and the Droid X2 -- which recently showed up on NenaMark shedding light on its qHD screen and Tegra 2 chip. Also, there's your Droid Charge -- ex-Stealth with Galaxy S-like specs, except the 4.3-inch screen and 4G LTE -- and of course the Droid Incredible 2 -- the HTC Incredible S with a retail packaging that ...

Motorola has filed for a trademark on the term "Bionic" in Europe, suggesting that it will bring its dual-core Droid Bionic overseas as a GSM handset named simply Motorola Bionic. This would follow a similar move that the company pulled with its Atrix 4G on AT&T, in which it simply dropped the 4G for the purpose of global branding. In fact, the two handset have much in common, both offering Tegra 2 chipsets, qHD displays, and 4G wireless broadband for their respective networks. Besides its LTE support, the Bionic also offers a larger 4.3-inch screen, but only half of the Atrix's full gig ...

Looks like Verizon's future short term roadmap has been leaked and it contains orientative dates, subject to change, of the upcoming devices the carrier has in store for April and May. According to the table attached, April 7 is the date to watch for Samsung's 4G LTE device, called the Droid Charge, with its 4.3-inch display and4G LTE compatibility. Same day the Casio Commando (image) should hit too, a rugged Android device a la Motorola Defy. A week after, on April 14, it's time for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play which we knew to expect on the carrier. April 15 looks to be the date for the ...

PhoneArena has been tipped by a reliable source that claims to know the pace of releases for Verizon's upcoming smartphones. First up, we've got the Thunderbolt, Verizon's first LTE 4G smartphone, which is still slated for a mid-February release. Second, that mysterious and sort of buttonless HTC phone, perhaps landing as the Droid Incredible 2, is on track for a late February or March release. Also within the same time period we'll see a release of the Samsung LTE 4G smartphone, which we know as the SCH-i520. And for Q2, expect to see the BlackBerry Monaco, or the Storm 3, and also the ...

Verizon's upcoming Droid Bionic from Motorola briefly appeared on Amazon at a list price of $150 on contract, according to a Droid-Life forum post. The listing has since been pulled. This is the same asking price as the previously leaked Atrix 4G, which was also on Amazon Wireless and taken down quickly after posting. Motorola's Bionic and Atrix 4G share similar specifications, both being dual core devices running at 1GHz, featuring 8 megapixel cameras and qHD displays. The Bionic carries 512MB RAM, a front-facing webcam, and a 4.3-inch display. Engadget reports February 11th as a possible ...
