After a long period of waiting -- since it was first introduced this January at CES and then went through a facelift procedure -- the Motorola Droid Bionic was finally introduced yesterday by the OEM together with the carrier. As promised, the phone is available as of now and it goes for $299.99 with a two-year contract. If you decide to buy only the phone it will cost you $589.99 but you'll get a dual-core 1GHz CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 4.3-inch qHD display, eight-megapixel autofocus camera with flash and 1080p HD video capture, front-facing camera for video chat, HDMI-out, and 32 GB memory out ...

It's always a pleasure to see phones being launched before the rumored launch date even if it's just a couple of hours early. Verizon and Motorola today officially announced the highly anticipated Motorola Droid Bionic, presented at this year's CES in January, then pulled for a facelift and now finally launched. The phone will be available starting tomorrow, September 8, as the carrier's first dual-core phone to support 4G LTE. The Droid Bionic sports a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4.3-inch qHD display, eight-megapixel autofocus camera with flash and 1080p HD video capture, ...

You can literally count the hours until Verizon and Motorola will finally launch the Droid Bionic, after it was introduced at the beginning of this year at CES, so it's just normal that more and more pictures and videos of the phone pop up. In the video below you will not find anything out of the ordinary. It's the Droid Bionic filmed in what appears to be a Verizon store. There's also a comparison with the Droid X2 but what makes the Droid Bionic unique is that it will be the carrier's first dual-core phone with LTE support. With hours until its launch, will you buy the Droid Bionic or ...

There should really be little doubt about the launch date of the highly anticipated Motorola Droid Bionic after that last TV ad kind of gave away the date. We've heard about September 8 before and it appears to be the date the phone will officially see the light of day. Over at Droid-Life they have a rather large gallery of Droid Bionic pictures for you to check out. There's also a picture of the retail packaging so you know what to expect early next week when you get your own. The phone will feature a TI OMAP4430 processor, a 4.3-inch color transflective TFT screen with a 540x960 qHD ...

Now that the Motorola Droid Bionic has been re-jiggered, re-outfitted, and prepped for a release on Verizon's LTE network, we've just been left wondering when the Android smartphone would finally be available for sale. There have been plenty of rumors, and lots of leaked roadmaps, but nothing absolutely concrete. September 8 has been looking like the most likely ETA, popping up in numerous places, but we've also been misled by reports echoing that support for the eighth that have turned out to be somewhat less than authorized. Maddeningly, Verizon continues to remain tight-lipped about the ...

Verizon subscribers rejoice as many are currently having their phone upgrade schedules moved up. This is sort of the same move that AT&T pulled last year with the iPhone 4 launch, so it's kind of interesting to wonder why it's happening in this timeframe. In some cases, the upgrades have even been moved to serve those that wouldn't be eligible for an upgrade until May 2012, so this is hot in every way. Our biggest bet is that is Verizon's way of retaining Android customers as Motorola is planning to release their Droid Bionic next week according to most of the leaks around. We also know ...

There have been numerous past rumors about the Motorola Droid Bionic's launch date but the most recent (and discussed) one seems to be referring to September 8. There was no official confirmation nor denial from either Verizon or Motorola's part just plain silence, until recently. It's quite unusual for OEMs to announce big product news only on Twitter but it seems that the @DroidBionic account, made an exception. Some would argue about the account not being legitimate or official but it appears that the following words have been posted: "On September 8th 2011, the Motorola Droid Bionic ...

It may seem like we're on the verge of reaching Motorola Droid Bionic overkill, but we can't help but get excited about the pending release of a top-tier smartphone. Earlier today, a new video showed us the Bionic in action, and now we have some first hand reports that seek to give us some insight into the LTE phone's battery life, as well as some new renders of the handset that clearly show just how thick the Bionic will be. LTE is a notorious battery hog, so it would be understandable to approach the Bionic with some concern over how long its battery will hold out during regular use. It ...

As we're getting closer and closer to that rumored September 8 Verizon launch for the Motorola Droid Bionic, new information pop up. After recently seeing the Droid Bionic boot and even the commercial being leaked, today we get a chance to have a better look at the phone and its software. The Droid Bionic will have a 4.3-inch display (not a 4.5-inch one) and will be powered by a TI OMAP4430 processor. That will be one of the two things setting the Droid Bionic aside from the Photon 4G, plus its capability of recording 1080p video. Check out the footage above and let us know of your ...

Yesterday, we got a look at one of the promotional videos Verizon and Motorola will be using to sell the Bionic when it's finally ready to arrive. While that clip was pretty flashy, it didn't actually feature the Bionic at all. Today, we've got a new video that actually shows off the phone in action, capturing its boot sequence, some of the UI, and a speed test. As usual for a Droid, we've got the big old red eye manning the boot animation, this time looking like some sort of plasma ball with LED chasers. The phone's running the latest Blur (or whatever Motorola wants us to call it ...

If you like watching shaky videos of other videos, have we got a treat for you! Motorola's confirmed that the long-delayed Droid Bionic will finally be coming out on Verizon in September, and now one of the video spots that will be used to promote the smartphone has been leaked. Featuring the tagline "Rule All Machines", the advertisement employs the high-tech, industrial look that's been at the forefront of promotions for the Droid lineup. Unsurprisingly, we don't see any real mention of the Bionic's abilities, features, or anything that should actually be on your mind when making your ...

We recently learned of a rumor that finally gave the upcoming Motorola Droid Bionic a retail price. The off-contract figure of $587 seems about right for the smartphone, but what would that make its on-contract price be? Verizon usually charges higher prices for LTE-equipped smartphones, so would we be looking at something around $250, or maybe closer to $300? A new leak of minimum advertised prices for Verizon phones say we're looking at the latter. The list gives the Droid Bionic a MAP of $299.99. While it'd be possible for a retailer to discount the phone below that, if the number is ...

We've been learning more and more about Motorola's Droid Bionic on Verizon LTE, most recently getting a better look at its hardware specs and software features. Even as that picture gets filled-in, we're still left wondering about the phone's cost and retail launch date. Some new rumors hope to nail those down, but do they fit with what we've already heard? A leaked screenshot, supposedly from Verizon's retail computers, shows the new Bionic in the store's inventory, displaying a price of $587. Obviously, that's off-contract, and it's definitely in-line with what current Motorola devices ...

Motorola published what looked very much like a list of Droid Bionic specs on its developer's site earlier this month. Some of the information revealed offered new insight into the Bionic's revised hardware; we had been wondering, for instance, whether the smartphone would end up with a 4.5 or a 4.3-inch display. A new leak has now revealed the Tips and Tricks manual for the Bionic, giving us additional confirmation for some of its specs, as well as highlighting several of the smartphone's features. Once again, there's mention of the Bionic having a 4.3-inch qHD screen, so consider that ...

The upcoming Motorola Droid Bionic has recently visited FCC and the Commission has exposed the phone besides making its user manual available to download. The FCC pictures complement those we've seen earlier but the Droid Bionic has been also pictured in the wild. The story here is that a Verizon store was reportedly visited by a Motorola rep that coincidentally had a Droid Bionic. We can see the phone pictured on the streets but what's even more interesting is that we're also looking at the alleged laptop dock for the phone (a la Atrix 4G). That confirmed September launch can't come soon ...
