It seems that Verizon is preparing its DroidDoes minisite for the arrival of the RAZR-esque Motorola DROID4, although as far as we can tell, the content is not actually live yet (the screenshot is purportedly from the mobile site). While not much about the 4 remains unknown save for a price and release date, the near-final looking appearance of the alleged promo page would seem to at least indicate that a launch is close at hand. Coming just about six months after the DROID3's debut, the Gingerbread 2.3.5-powered 4 offers a sleeker form factor along with LTE connectivity, and steps up the ...

It's still too early to say for sure, but it's beginning to look like, despite the numerous signs pointing to a December 22 release, the Motorola Droid 4 may not launch as expected tomorrow. Even when the Galaxy Nexus was delayed, we had still heard all about retail stores receiving their stocks in advance; there's no such action with the Droid 4. That's not to say that the phone still couldn't go up for sale tomorrow – maybe Verizon will announce that orders are open via direct fulfillment, and the stores won't need stocks on-hand – but that's just speculation at this point. Droid-life, ...

The week wouldn't be complete without revisiting a few launch rumors one last time. Luckily, we've got some new word on a couple of the most anticipated ones set to make their debut on Verizon Wireless, supposedly coming from Verizon employees who have just been tipped-off to these updated launch schedules. Of course, we couldn't talk VZW launch rumors without starting with the Galaxy Nexus. There have been lots of signs pointing to it coming out around December 8, though most recently a leak suggested that VZW's retail partner Best Buy might not even receive the phone until December 11. ...

Seemingly out of left field, a smartphone purporting to be the Motorola Droid 4 came to our attention near the end of September, less than three months after the Droid 3 was released. We then got our first look at the handset as October wrapped-up, showing off some of the same angled design cues as featured on the upcoming Droid RAZR. While we hadn't heard of any specific rumors concerning its release, the phone pictured looked relatively far-along in its development, raising questions as to whether Motorola would wait until next summer to release it, or launch the phone prematurely. ...

It hasn't even been two months since we first started seeing signs of a Motorola Droid 4 in development and it's already looking like the smartphone could be nearly ready to arrive. After showing-up in Verizon's computers earlier this month, that release started feeling realer than ever, and now we've heard the first rumor about just when launch day may be. According to a leaked Verizon screenshot, the carrier is looking to double-dip with high-end Androids on December 8, supposedly releasing not just the LTE Galaxy Nexus, but the Droid 4 as well. The Droid 4 may not be packing Ice Cream ...

Motorola's Droid 4 continues its rapid, stealthy approach towards release by popping back up in Verizon's computers again, this time with a leaked screenshot informing us of some newly-added training videos for the Android smartphone. Our latest update on the Droid 4 came earlier this week, when another leaked screenshot gave us our first real guess at a release date for the phone, claiming that it would arrive arm-in-arm with Samsung's Galaxy Nexus on December 8. Authorized retailers that are part of Verizon's indirect sales channel (and presumably Verizon personnel themselves, though ...

The story behind the Motorola Droid 4 began with a real-life sighting at the end of October, then some rumors about a possible December 8 launch -- alongside probably the Galaxy Nexus and later on continued with what appeared to be official specs for the phone. The image above is the official press render for the Verizon Motorola Droid 4. The phone is basically your Droid RAZR with a smaller screen but with an added five-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard. From the leaked specs we learn that there is a 1.2GHz dual-core processor inside, 1GB of RAM, 4G/LTE-capable radio, eight-megapixel main ...

We first heard of the Motorola Droid 4 at the beginning of the month when the name popped up in Verizon's system. It was later rumored to land on December 8 -- a date also rumored for the Galaxy Nexus -- and we've even seen training documents for the device. Following all the above we now have what appear to be official specs for the Motorola Droid 4. The 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM are similar to the Droid RAZR but there's a smaller four-inch qHD screen apparently on the Droid 4. The phone slides out to reveal a five-row QWERTY keyboard and there's a 4G/LTE-capable radio ...

Well here's a surprise: Motorola appears to be working on a fourth generation of its popular Droid series of Android-powered QWERTY sliders, with Droid 4 EXIF data starting to show up left and right on photo-sharing sites. Unfortunately no one seems to have opened up the Droid 4 to its full resolution -- whatever that may be -- so we only have resized photos for judging image quality (which seems quite good in these preliminary shots). According to a poster on Howard Forums, this handset is codenamed Maserati and, like the Droid 3, lacks a D-pad on the keyboard. As a Verizon-bound device, ...

Motorola is getting ready to hook Verizon up with another LTE-capable smartphone, at least according to the company's latest FCC filing. The documents tell the tale of a handset equipped to run on Verizon's LTE band 13, but just what model are we looking at? A couple phones come to mind as possibilities, but it seems like this time we're dealing with the Motorola Droid 4. There are other Motorola models we expect to eventually show up on Verizon LTE, like the RAZRMAX we uncovered last week. From the sound of it, though, that model would end up slightly larger than the Droid RAZR we have ...

For some reason, we've been seeing an awful lot of Verizon-related news today, and that trend continues with the latest chapter in the Motorola Droid 4 story. After sprinting out of the gate, past the FCC, and into Verizon's computers in what may be record time, the Droid 4 is now poised for its release later this month, bringing a hardware QWERTY option to Verizon 4G LTE. Last we checked, multiple leaks were naming December 22 as the phone's release date. Considering this is Verizon we're talking about, not to mention an LTE model, we're well aware of the chance for the phone seeing some ...

It's been just about a month since we saw the first sign of the next iteration in Motorola's Droid lineup. The Droid 4, supposedly going under the code name Maserati, revealed itself via some EXIF data in a photo it had snapped. That clued us in to the phone being in development, but we had yet to get a look at the phone itself or learn anything about its hardware specs. Today we can finally check out what Motorola has planned for the Droid 4, thanks to the arrival of the first pictures of the phone itself, along with a collection of rumored specs. Like the Droids before it, the Droid 4 ...

Thanks to the presence of high-end phones like the Galaxy Nexus and Droid 4, we've been paying close attention to the rumored state of Verizon's December release schedule. After the Galaxy Nexus clearly wasn't going to make it to the US in November, leaks tacked its release date to early in the month, and though it's jumped around a little, December 9 is seeing a lot of support lately. As for the Droid 4, we had it up at the start of the month, but recent leaks have pushed it back to December 22. Today we have yet another Verizon leak to check out, and see what it has to add to this story. ...
