Yesterday we heard about the possibility that Motorola's Droid 4 would go up for sale at Verizon on February 9. There wasn't any leaked screenshot or roadmap to help back up that claim, but it certainly sounded like a plausible date to release the handset; we had heard rumors of a February release before, after all. Today some new evidence emerges that contradicts that date for the Droid 4 launch, and a separate rumor arrives that discusses Apple's event plans for the next couple months. This time, there's a screenshot to back-up the Droid 4 launch rumor, claiming the phone will be ...

We believed the Motorola Droid 4 had a brief DroidDoes appearance last December but only now the phone is up on the website (and it appears it's there to stay). We've just heard rumors that the phone which was announced at this year's CES will be available as of February 9 on Verizon. If you follow the source link below to DroidDoes you will be landing on a page dedicated to the Droid 4. Aside from the fact that you can sign up to receive information about the device you will be able to see pictures and well as browse its specs. These are: four-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB ...

Last fall, Motorola's Droid 4 sort of sneaked-up on us out of nowhere, surprising everyone when signs of the phone's existence started popping-up such a relatively short time after the release of the Droid 3. At first, we heard rumors suggesting that the phone was being fast-tracked to market, with plans to start sales back in December. As it turns out, we would have to wait until the CES for the Android to be officially announced, and even then we wouldn't get the complete story on its launch. That's been slowly coming together ever since, and one of the latest pieces to arrive has been ...

We've already seen a leaked Verizon MAP (minimum advertised price) list showing the Motorola Droid 4 and at that time it was priced around $250 on a two-year contract. The most recent MAP list leak shows the phone is getting a better price. As you can see in the image above, the Verizon Motorola Droid 4 has been dropped from $249.99 to $199.99. The interesting thing about the Motorola Droid 4 is that it still has no exact launch date. After CES, the first MAP indicated a higher price and now the carrier seems to be lowering it before launch. The $199.99 seems like a great deal on the ...

We know just about everything about the Motorola Droid 4. It was announced on January 9, we've got our hands-on time with the device while at CES and according to the Verizon MAP leak we should expect it to go up for sale for $249.99 with the usual two-year agreement. If you want to know the device better before deciding to grab one for yourself (and you don't have the Droid RAZR to compare it with) you can start reading the pages of the official manual that will accompany the phone. With it already available, the only thing really missing is an exact availability date. Source: Motorola ...

Near the end of December, we saw some leaked screenshots out of Verizon which appeared to indicate that the HTC Fireball and LG Spectrum would feature radios capable of global roaming on GSM-based networks, an ability we'd yet to see from LTE-enabled handsets on the carrier. All we saw were some database entries, though, and it seemed too early to say if we'd really see those phones arrive with global roaming enabled. Now a representative from Verizon has confirmed the carrier's plans, noting that supported hardware will see the feature enabled in the coming months. We haven't heard an ...

At CES 2012, Verizon announced two new LTE smartphones: the LG Spectrum and the Motorola Droid 4. The Spectrum, in particular, has a 4.5" 720p HD display and a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 CPU with 1GB of RAM. In many ways, it's essentially the same phone as the LG Nitro HD on AT&T. It's thin and light with a fingerprint-prone smooth backing. While the Spectrum comes with Android 2.3, expect an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich in Q2. The Spectrum will be available on January 19th for $199. The Droid 4 is the one to get if you want a hardware keyboard. It has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a ...

After we looked forward to a rumored launch late last month, the Motorola Droid 4 on Verizon LTE failed to materialize. Instead, we heard that the phone's release would see a short delay and may finally occur in February. We were hoping that CES would bring some answers along with it. On Monday, Motorola finally officially announced the Droid 4, but it didn't have any new details on a launch date or price to share with us. Luckily, there's a new leak out of Verizon that may help us fill in the blanks, providing a minimum advertised price for the Droid 4. According to this MAP list, we ...

Not more than seven months after the Droid 3 was released, Verizon has announced the latest in what appears to be the longest lineage of a smarpthone brand ever. The Droid 4, which appeared on our radar in September, is the first LTE-capable original Droid (of the hardware keyboard variety). In a lot of ways, the Droid 4 reminds us of the Droid RAZR with its slender design and somewhat rounded edges. It packs a 4.0" qHD 960x540 display powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage with microSD expansion, an 8MP shooter on the back capable of recording 1080p video, ...

Everyone's expecting the Motorola Droid 4, especially because of its slender shape and QWERTY keyboard. We might even see the phone announced next week at CES and here's some more information showing that the phone is indeed on the right track. The keyboard-enabled Droid RAZR has just received its DLNA certification. Tested as the Motorola XT894, the phone seems to be in the attention of DLNA since October 2010, before Verizon and Motorola even announced the Droid RAZR. As the device stacks up its approvals, we are kindly waiting for a possible CES announcement. It would be about time! ...

As we wait to learn more of the Motorola Droid 4's retail debut, we continue to see what amounts to the aftershocks of the phone's delayed release plans. The latest-such to hit is the appearance of Droid 4 accessories at Verizon retail partners. Already, we've seen plenty of the phone in both internal Verizon leaks, as well as in images created for the marketing plan that never came to pass. Last week, the Droid 4 popped-up in a live page on Best Buy's site, despite the phone not even having received a formal announcement yet. A little more recently, a demo dummy unit intended for display ...

When we first started seeing signs of Motorola's Droid 4 show up over the past few months, the timing seemed quite odd, considering that the Droid 3 had only landed on Verizon back in July. While the Droid 4's launch is apparently stalled for the moment, the latest rumors suggest it will arrive in about a month. If a new leak that surfaced this weekend is any indication, the Droid 3 could already be on its way out by then, with a Verizon document showing the smartphone taking on end-of-life status this month. The Droid 3 isn't the only Verizon Android to get the touch-of-death on this ...

The Motorola Droid 4 is definitely going to be crowned 2011's most leaked and anticipated Smartphone that never got released in 2011. Now, let's forget about all the spy shots for a minute because this time a real Demo unit was leaked and photographed extensively. Sadly, this is just a dummy unit, but it does include a lot of the details we're looking for regarding looks and specs. As for all the good specs, this device rocks: - 1.2GHz dual-core processor - 1GB of RAM - 16GB of built-in storage - microSD expansion - 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording capabilities - HD ...

Up until last week, things were looking good for the prospect of a Motorola Droid 4 launch on December 22. As the days counting-down to that expected launch grew shorter, speculation started to build that the anticipated date would be missed, and that we might not get a chance to see the phone until sometime in February. Sure enough, the lid has been kept on the Droid 4, with no comment coming from Verizon. Just how close were we to the possibility of the phone's release, before plans changed? Some more Droid 4-related marketing materials have emerged, painting the picture of a smartphone ...

December 22 is now upon us, and with no Motorola Droid 4 in sight, it looks like the rumors we heard of a delay were spot-on. Overnight, some evidence showed up supporting the idea that we wouldn't be seeing the phone arrive until February. Even with 2012 nearly upon us, that still feels like a long way off. Luckily, some new images of the handset have arrived to at least help tide us over. We already had one really nice-looking render of the Droid 4 to enjoy, and now it's joined by a series showing the smartphone from nearly every possible angle. We finally get a good look at the phone's ...
