Motorola's Droid 3 looks like it will be a pretty decent upgrade to the Droid 2. Building off the familiar Droid form factor, you'll find the Droid 3 has a larger, higher-resolution screen, as well as a modern dual-core processor. Despite all the anticipation, Verizon's hasn't yet outed the Droid 3 and provided us with a scheduled release date. Some new information helps us narrow down when to expect it, but it's not quite a slam-dunk. A leaked screenshot of Best Buy's computer system shows the Droid 3 anticipated for arrival on July 13. Verizon loves to release phones on Thursdays, so the ...

Where there's smoke, there's fire (or a laser light show, at least), and where there are accessories for eagerly-anticipated smartphones, chances are those phones aren't too far off. There's been a lot of Motorola Droid 3 information arriving lately, though Verizon has yet to publicize a release date for the model. While the smartphone waits patiently in the wings, its accessories have now started to appear online. Accessory supplier Qmadix has a snap-on rubberized case for the Droid 3 posted up on its site. The page currently shows the case as "coming soon", but the images show this is a ...

The Motorola Droid 3 initially appeared on NenaMark scoring a rough score of 45 and the smartphone that has been recently launched in China as the Milestone 3 -- hopefully coming to the US on July 7 -- has popped with GLBenchmark 2.0 results. The combination of the Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor and PowerVR SGX 540 GPU helped the Droid 3 score 26.7 in the Egypt benchmark test placing second after the LG Optimus 3D. While numbers don't necessarily mean excellent real-life performance they're a good indication of things to come. The Motorola Droid 3 might be the best ever Droid from ...

Motorola has just recently launched the Milestone 3 smartphone -- aka the Motorola Droid 3 -- in China and we're looking forward to seeing the Droid refresh hit the U.S. market on July 7 according to rumors unconfirmed though. While it is by no means a confirmation in any way of a launch date, it gives us a solid hint that the launch is ready. The Motorola Droid 3 has just earned its MAP status (minimum advertised price) over at Verizon, according to the screenshot above acquired by Droid-life. If rumors and indications turn out to be true, Big Red will have the Droid 3 in a little bit ...

Motorola has announced the Droid 3 for China and, as the manufacturer did in the past with the Droid smartphones, naming them Milestone outside of the U.S., the Droid 3 will hit China as the XT883 aka Milestone 3. The smartphone, as previous hardware spec leaks implied, sports a dual-core processor, four-inch qHD resolution display, five-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard, eight-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording capability, front facer for video calls and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Milestone 3 will be available from Motorola as well as China Telecom ...

The FCC filings continue to roll in today, with the latest to hit our radar an entry from Motorola. Though there's very little present that assists us in identifying the phone, there are some hints that we could be looking at the Droid 3 Global. The first thing we noticed about this Motorola was the glut of cellular bands available to it. The FCC documentation lists 800 and 1900MHz CDMA bands, 800 and 1900MHz EV-DO, quad-band GSM, and 850, 1900, and 2100MHz WCDMA. Notes attest that the phone's firmware will ship with all the GSM and WCDMA bits disabled. This collection of bands, with the ...

Earlier today we heard about the first real possibility for a launch date for Motorola's Droid 3, rumored to be showing up with Verizon on July 7. As we wait to see if that date checks out, an early look at the smartphone out of China gives us a new look at its hardware, with some fresh information on its specs. Bad news first: the Droid 3's display, though with a nice qHD resolution, will be another PenTile setup, like other recent Motorola Droids. While that screen has good readability in direct sunlight, you pay for it with problems drawing crisp, straight lines and troubles with color ...

The Motorola Droid 3 already appeared in Best Buy's computer system back at the beginning of May but so far we don't know anything exact regarding its release date, though it shouldn't be far off. According to Droid-life sources, the Motorola Droid 3 is being targetted by Verizon for a July 7 announcement date. While this still belongs in the Rumor category though, popular smartphone game producer Gameloft has added the phone as the "Motorola XT862 Droid 3" to their list of compatible devices. The codename fits as the Droid 3 surfaced with the same numbering on NenaMark's website a month ...

Motorola's Droid 3 turned up in a couple pics last month, with a new, larger screen. Details on the smartphone are still sparse, but there's some new evidence suggesting that a release could be nearer than we might have thought, as a supplier of OEM phone components has the whole Droid 3 screen assembly up for sale. According to Global Direct Parts, the Droid 3 will expand the 3.7-inch screen on previous Droids to a little-more-modern four inches, along with a bump to qHD resolution. This will also be the first of the basic Droid models to include a front-facing camera for video chats. ...

After yesterday's picture of the rumored upcoming Motorola Droid 3 -- alongside the Droid X2 and Targa -- today the Droid 2 refresh flashes its new keyboard in a thinner form factor. As you'd expect from a Motorola Droid 3, similar to its predecessor, the keyboard is rather large. The upcoming model seems to have even larger keys -- and there seems to be only one color painted on them -- while Motorola is trying to maintain a thin form factor. Additionally, you can observe the fact that the bottom part is shorter than the top, sliding part, which has the chrome bezel to add to its aspect. ...

After the Motorola Droid 2 and the Motorola Droid X, the manufacturer seems to be preparing the Motorola Droid 3 and the Motorola Droid X2 and luckily we can see a couple of pictures of the devices which popped up over at HowardForums. Not much is known about the Motorola Droid 3 but we suspect it will be a decent follow-up to the Droid 2 with improved QWERTY keyboard and maybe a bump in its specs from the 1GHz TI OMAP 3620 on the Droid 2. We've already seen the Motorola Droid X2 pose for the camera last week with rumors of an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and a ...

The revelation of some Motorola Droid 3 hardware last week had us hoping that the latest edition of the popular smartphone lineup would be soon upon us. With the Droid Bionic sent back to the engineers for an overhaul, the Droid 3 and the keyboard-less Droid X² would have to satisfy our Droid cravings for the time being. That just begs the question of when we can expect either of those models to surface. Best Buy, for one, looks like it's getting ready for both smartphones to drop, adding the Droid 3 and Droid X² to its computer systems. As you can see in the leaked screenshot, the ...
