Amazon seems to know what it's doing with tablets — it's been blasting the budget bin with its Fire tablet. It's a standard little seven-incher with Wi-Fi capability and 8GB of on-board storage. We saw it launch at $49.99 and even get put into six-packs for $250. And still, it begs to be discounted. It's now $39.99. Yep, you save a tenner. We keep joking that we could probably toss these things around like disposable gloves or get 52 of them for a full deck and play an insane game of poker. There is a 16GB version, too, also $10 off at $59.99. At the same time, the more robust Fire HD 6 ...

Your mother may not understand what you're talking about when she asks for Wi-Fi help. But if you do love her, she does deserve a little appreciation and more than just a couple texts a year. Then again, if you have retail holiday fatigue, you might want to avoid the carriers this week. T-Mobile is one of the networks trying to juice up its sales for mother's sake. It went through some major price cuts on the Galaxy Note 5, LG V10 refurbs and G Stylo 2, and sure, there's the typical discount blast for accessories ranging from floral cases to beet-dyed Beats merchandise. Get ready, though, ...

You're an AT&T customer, right? No? Oh, sorry for assuming. Well, if you're on the Death Star and you've been holding off on the BlackBerry Priv — long held as an AT&T exclusive to some others' chagrin — because it's just too darn expensive, you've had a bit of luck recently. First came the BlackBerry-sanctioned price cut, down to $650 from $700. Then there's a deal, still ongoing as of this post, for an unlocked AT&T Priv — you just have to shell up $450 upfront. Now, for those of you who would rather swallow bite-sized payments, you're still really stuck at this point. ...

iPhones aren't getting cheaper. Well, maybe in the land of the rising sun. Apple has not given a reason why price cuts have come to Japan, but they have and they may be here for a while. One reason could be, as is often the case, that the currency markets have shifted to jelly again. The Yen has improved against the Dollar by about 10 percent in the past few months. All SIM-free SKUs of the iPhone SE, the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus get the chopper, generally about 9 percent. Those who recently bought one of these phones (except the iPhone SE) within ...

Design don't come cheap and yet, these designs do. Those special 32GB Moto X Pure Editions with the Jonathan Adler-crafted patterns have come a long way down from the original $475 they debuted at. A recent sale took them all the way down to $349.99, the same as a standard 16GB Pure Edition right now. And now, the three patterns have plopped down to $299.99. Really, we're serious. If you're wincing for what may be coming in June from Lenorola or Motonovo, stop biting your nails. We have no idea how long this will last. Source: Motorola Via: PhoneDog

Still holding out on Project Fi? If you have been considering the pros and cons of Google's amalgamated MVNO service, you have another 30 days to think about them. Google's been offering the Nexus 5X with your subscription to Project Fi for the discounted price of $199. That promotion was supposed to end today. Turns out that Google didn't want it to end. Good things don’t always have to come to an end. Get the #nexus5x starting at $199 for another month when you activate with Project Fi. — Project Fi (@projectfi) April 8, 2016 Make sure that if you do follow along with the deal that ...

It was just a couple weeks ago that we saw deals for the 16GB Moto X Pure Edition hit $300. That chunkier 64GB version got a steep drop down to $400 at one point. While we don't have those prices anymore, we do have good news from Amazon while we're taking on the 32GB version — it's at its lowest price in five months. As background, Motorola is now pricing the 16GB Moto X Pure Edtion at $349.99 for a limited time with the 32GB one near $400 and the 64GB edition at $450. Not a bad deal for the thrill seeker, all things considered. But Amazon — in keeping with Motorola — has ...

HTC is quite stingy when it comes to first-party sales. It's been the case for both the One M9 and the One A9 and even the One M8 as all of those phones have retained their original full retail prices for the longest time. It's only when these Hot Deals come along that things start making sense. And hey, it's "spring cleaning" time, so there'd better be some inventory to clear out. The One M9, as flawed as you think it may be, is up for sale at $399 while the One A9 is currently $389 — less than even its debut promotional pricing. The 32GB Wi-Fi version of the Nexus 9 is just under $288 ...

Trust us, we don't really think of Walmart as the first place we'd buy our smartphones from, but given the right circumstances, you just might. So, when Walmart goes out and says that it's discounting all stock of iPhones and Galaxy phones. Be it the iPhone SE or the iPhone 6s, heck, maybe even the iPhone 5c, you'll get $100 off. Galaxy S7? Galaxy S6? Galaxy S5 Active, even? Sure, those are $150 off. Here are the catches, though: the phone must be purchased on AT&T, Verizon or Sprint — Walmart was able to get agreements with those three carriers, but not T-Mobile — and must be ...

That was fast. In lieu of any bundling nonsense and freaky little accessories that will probably get boxed up in the attic, well, how about a discount? Canada's WIND Mobile took its time in providing that alternative for Samsung's latest Android flagship (16, according to SamMobile). In the end, it's $100 off the Galaxy S7 outright, bringing the price down to $799. That brings down the prices on WIND's other payment methods like WINDtab ($699, $549, $399 or $199). The Galaxy S7 edge remains at its original $999 full price. Source: WIND Mobile Via: SamMobile

When manufacturers churn up specific models of their devices for developers to tinker with, — by the way, that seems a bit long ago — the latter end up paying like the rest of us, if not a little bit more. If anything, these people should be getting some slack cut off them. They are the ones making the apps we might want to use. So, Google, makers of reference devices all the world around, has decided that that slack should be cut. For a short time, it's giving devs one-use promo codes good for a quarter off a Pixel C if they sign up for the Pixel team's newsletter (they say updates, ...

Having second thoughts on what to get? Do you really just need a cheap, capable phone? Well, if you're a firm believer of the philosophy that last year's top-tier phones are this year's mid-rangers, you might just be satisfied right here. T-Mobile has put the scissors to the price tag on the LG G4, now only charging $350 for a device that will be superseded by the LG G5 introduced at MWC in Barcelona. That's better than a 40 percent cut from its original price and another $100 off from when the G4 was first discounted when the LG V10 was introduced to T-Mobile. While you may not have a ...

Too little and too late. Motorola's David Schuster announced on his Google+ page that announced software upgrades for Verizon's DROID Ultra, DROID Mini and DROID Maxx have been cancelled. So, instead of Android Lollipop, they will stay on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The Droid Mini started on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean while the Ultra and Maxx debuted with 4.2.2. Schuster was in full apology mode. We apologize that we will not be upgrading DROID Ultra/Mini/Maxx to Android Lollipop, as we had hoped. We know how important software upgrades are to our customers, and we're very sorry that we are unable ...

It's funny to be a college graduate when you're looking at friends still in school and one of them is asking to suggest a cheap phone they could buy because their iPhone (it's always an iPhone [and it's already has a cracked screen]) has bit the dust. Well, if they plan on being T-Mobile customers (and the planning is key as you'll see below), they can now save a couple more bucks in their already thin wallets. College students and staff of K-12 and secondary schools can apply for a one-time device discount of $48. The process involves entering basic information about your name, ...

All glorious 18.4 inches could be yours for the low, low price of... Well, if $549 wasn't good enough for you, you probably wouldn't shell $499 or go to AT&T to find room on your kitchen countertop or fridge for the Samsung Galaxy View at this price. Amazon, Best Buy and B&H have all taken down the tablet's price to $449. Just remember that this device would better serve those who love to binge watch something on their mobile phones, but would rather have the phone stand up by itself and be large enough to be seen from a distance of at least three feet. At least we've got stereo ...

Remember those deep discounts on the Nexus Player we told you about? Actually, we should probably ask: do you remember the Nexus Player? Do you want a new Nexus Player? Well, if you're happy with your Chromecast and you know it, clap your hands because at $35, you're paying $64.99 less for a more practical Google TV interface. But if you like a great deal and have a Target nearby, shop around and see if you can snag a Nexus Player on last-stage clearance. Depending on the store, you may see Nexus Players going for $24.98. If you see the red sticker on the box, it's going, going, gone. ...

This is probably not the best time to get an iPhone, since we're probably just a month or two away from Apple's next generation smartphone. That said, if you're in urgent need to get one, that doesn't mean that devices like the iPhone 4S won't remain relevant for at least another year or two. As carriers begin doing their best to boost sales during the slowest season of the year, Sprint took the lead by dropping as much as $86 from any iPhone that you purchase in their network after a two-year contract. That involves dropping $50 off the price tag, and then waving the $36 activation fee. ...
