Oppo's N1 is an interesting phone for a lot of reasons: a rear touch panel, that cool rotating camera... but one that's really grabbing a big chunk of the attention is the phone's special status as officially supporting CyanogenMod as an alternate platform. Earlier this month, we saw the regular N1 go up for sale, which fully supports users re-flashing their handsets with a CM ROM. In addition to that model, we've also known about a special CyanogenMod Edition of the phone, which would arrive from the factory with CM already installed and ready to go; this week, that CM N1 becomes ...

The Oppo N1 is a CyanogenMod-centric smartphone but what could come next? What you want from a CyanogenMod phone might be different from what we expect to see, but, in any case, hardware diversity coupled with CM's exceptionally tuned bits is attractive, to say the least. According to a recent Google+ post, Cyanogen Inc. does indeed have a new hardware partner. "We're not quite ready to lift the veils", says the official page, so we're still left in the dark just a bit, though we should see official information in the "coming weeks". And, since the phrasing clearly indicates a "new" ...

CyanogenMod is simply blowing up this fall. When the team behind the custom ROM decided to go all corporate and form Cyanogen Inc., some of us long-term fans were understandably concerned – any big change carries with it the potential for disaster, and despite all sorts of assurances, we just didn't know what this would all mean for what to many has emerged as the custom ROM to beat. Since first getting that news of incorporation, things have been moving fast for Cyanogen Inc., and we've already seen both the release of a streamlined CyanogenMod Installer app into the Play Store, and a ...

CyanogenMod has really been in the public eye lately, following its incorporation earlier this year. Just yesterday, we saw the official CyanogenMod Installer hit the Play Store, hoping to introduce new (and maybe less tech-savvy) users to the custom ROM, and we've also seen the launch of the Oppo N1, not just with official CM support, but also its own special CM edition available. We expect to see a lot more from Cyanogen Inc. over the coming months, and one new rumor out today suggests that includes plans for a full-on CyanogenMod phone. Apparently, that means that unlike the N1, with ...

A couple months back, we first heard about the formation of Cyanogen Inc., taking the CyanogenMod custom ROM and trying to build a business out of it. We've already seen efforts like the Oppo N1, available in a special CM edition and easily capable of switching between that and the phone's ColorOS, but that's just part of what we've been looking forward to. When that September announce came, we also heard that work was pending on an official CyanogenMod installation app for Google Play, making it easier than ever for even ROM flashing novices to get in on the action. Today we get to see ...
