    This amorphous blob we keep referring to as "China" has been a tough topic to tackle for us at Pocketnow. The sheer enormity of the market, the hundreds, even thousands of component and device manufacturers and trends so short-lived, they seem concurrent enough to contradict each other all combine to inhibit understanding of the Chinese consumer. Well, fun fact: China covers 3.7 million square miles of megalopolises and nowheres with a government that has commercial interests in every part of it.     The affordable phone looks to be one of the biggest trends of 2014, with offerings from companies like HTC and Motorola having caught our eye. Windows Phones have also been leading the pack in terms of low-priced offerings, with a multitude of them coming in at less than $100. These latest two aren't quite that cheap, but come in at more affordable prices than most of today's flagships nonetheless.     On December 6 we have heard about rumors of Apple striking a deal with the world's largest mobile operator, by users, China Mobile. Now Apple confirms the information via a press release, telling the world that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available on the Chinese carrier starting January 17, 2014. The deal is a "multi-year agreement" and the phones will be available both in operator retail stores as well as Apple retail stores across mainland China.
