With Mother’s Day literally around the corner now, and T-Mobile the only major electronics retailer eager to close a few mutually beneficial deals, it might feel like you’re running out of time to find that perfect, hip, affordable gift. But Best Buy comes to the rescue of at least Apple devotees in the eleventh hour, rebooting its already customary “iWatch” discounts, as well as marking down all iPad mini 4 configurations by a cool $100. The 7.9-incher launched last fall as essentially an iPad Air 2 in a more compact body starts at $300 after the rebates, with 64GB storage ...

Despite arriving to the Android Wear party a little late, and boldly going for Apple Watch’s jugular with similarly extravagant pricing, the Huawei Watch didn’t take long to develop a cult following of sorts. Still, many prospective buyers held off waiting for discounts and bundle deals, which have become rather frequent recently. Amazon, Best Buy and Newegg are currently selling a number of 42mm configurations at probably their lowest tags yet, with stainless steel frames and various finishes, colors and band types. Of course, the black suture leather strapped model remains the most ...

Oculus is about to be more visible than ever before this weekend as the company can finally stop going it alone in sales. Its Rift headset will be coming to the Microsoft Store online and Amazon on May 6 at noon Eastern. It'll also hit the brick-and-mortars with 48 Best Buy stores nationwide demonstrating and selling the virtual reality rig starting on May 7 with more locations soon to stock the Rift. Oculus warns of limited inventories as it's already barely keeping up with pre-order volume. If you already did put in a pre-order and are arranging to get a demo and a purchase at a Best ...

If a 44mm smartwatch makes sense for your wrist, you may interested in either Huawei Watch for Women — one is encrusted with Swarovski zirconia and named "Jewel" while the plainer one is named "Elegant." We got to know them at CES and it was a full month ago that the Google Store started listing, but not selling the two. Google's still not selling them, but Best Buy, Newegg and B&H are to varying extents. With Best Buy, it only has an entry for the "Jewel" on its site, though it looks more like the Elegant — the picture and the price of $449.99 are the tells. Orders will get ...

If there’s one US-based smartphone manufacturer that can resist the global invasion of ultra-low-cost China-made Androids, it’s definitely BLU Products, the company behind such recent hits as the Energy X LTE, Vivo 5, Vivo XL, and Life One X. Well, there’s also Motorola, but technically, that’s a China-based Lenovo-owned outfit now, and its next Moto G franchise entry looks a little too high-end to be very affordable anyway. Meanwhile, before the third-gen Moto E sees daylight, the BLU Dash X2 and M2 have gone on sale on Amazon with minimal fanfare, the former likely snatching the ...

What can we say: it's the end of the week. Manufacturers have wrapped up their big hardware announcements for the time being, leaving us to sit back and check out some of the stories that might otherwise find themselves on the back burner. And you know what? There's some pretty good stuff in there. We've already spent the day checking out some pretty neat DIY projects spread across platforms, and have recently been taking an eye to some of the latest deals to hit the mobile world. That's just the sort of thread we're continuing with now, as we learn about a selection of solid discounts on ...

There’s no doubting or denying it anymore. Samsung’s “next big thing” is a massive box-office hit. But it’s not all due to the return of the microSD slot or water-resistant designs. A main catalyst for the surprisingly rampant demand thus far has been sensible pricing, shrewdly combined with various early promotions, especially stateside. There are still many ways you can buy the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on the cheap from plenty of carriers and third-party retailers, including BOGO arrangements, compelling bundles and outright $150 discounts through Walmart. Meanwhile, Best Buy just ...

If you want to own a no-holds-barred Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge in the US, why would you head to Best Buy to get one? Well, there is a limited one-year warranty on these phones as opposed to the ones at, say, Amazon or B&H. But is it worth the $50+ markup? That's right, if you're not going to deal with carrier bloatware from either AT&T or T-Mobile and want a little protection beyond the IP68 water resistance, the international variants of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge with no US warranty are on BestBuy.com right now. Only the Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium versions of the S7 are ...

The cheapest brand-name Android smartphone available stateside that still has a chance to officially move to OS version 6.0 costs less than ever before at Best Buy. Granted, the 2015 Motorola Moto E has its flaws, and today’s deal comes with its restrictions, but at a measly 30 bucks, this is a top-notch bargain no matter how you look at it. First and foremost, we should remind you the 4.5-incher’s manufacturer technically already denied the second-gen Moto E a Marshmallow promotion in the US. But there’s still time for Motorola, or rather Lenovo, to reconsider, possibly cracking ...

There have been numerous occasions in the past few months for prospective buyers of the delightful Samsung Gear S2 to jump on the Tizen smartwatch bandwagon without paying an arm and a leg. But if you missed Adorama’s $200 deal, as well as AT&T and Verizon’s free bundle combinations, or felt you could do better, today’s a lovely day to pull the trigger. Both the elastomer-strapped model and the extra-stylish Gear S2 Classic, complete with a black leather band, go for all-time low prices at Best Buy. Namely, $139 and $174 respectively. That’s a whopping $160 and $175 off list, ...

Tipsters pretty much nailed everything about the iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro well in advance of yesterday’s announcement event, but what some of them got wrong was the coming of a rehashed Apple Watch S. Cupertino did have something to showcase on the wearable front, and while the woven nylon band and new strap colors might pique the interest of a few fashionistas out there, it’s hard to get enthused for the $50 Sport discount. Not only is that too little and restrictive, it’s also late to the sales party, since many an Apple Watch variant have gone for $100 off their list prices ...

Sony didn’t exactly play all its cards right in terms of US availability for the Xperia Z5 trio, launching the high-end phones a little late, a little pricey and a little crippled. Worse yet, the Xperia X trio entered the equation perhaps a little early, though they’re only set to commercially roll out in the summer. Can something still be done to save the Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium from premature oblivion? Well, “global” Android Marshmallow updates are definitely a first step in the correct direction, and at least as far as the diminutive model goes, the bang for buck factor is ...

While LG hasn’t been anywhere as quick as Samsung to roll out its newest flagship Android smartphone, you can’t really say the G5 waiting is killing you. It’s still early days, compared to how long it used to take to launch these bad boys worldwide, and you officially have two more weeks to go. What’s two weeks between friends (pun intended), when you’re looking at the world’s first modular handheld, and a bunch of freebies are in store? Namely, LG’s just confirmed, a complimentary battery “pack” and the CAM Plus module in select territories. Unfortunately, it seems ...

We don’t know what’s gotten into Motorola and its US retail partners lately, but you won’t hear any complaints from professional bargain hunters. How could you when both the Moto X Pure Edition and Moto G (3rd gen) are available at new all-time record low prices for the next 24 to 48 hours? Meanwhile, you probably have a little more time to ponder Best Buy’s latest Moto 360 promotion, netting you gratis $50 gift cards no matter what version of the second-generation Android Wear smartwatches you’re interested in. Still, you shouldn’t overthink things, as already, the ...

How heartbroken were you to see the $300 Google Nexus 5X deal killed off back in early February? No matter now, as it’s been renewed by B&H PhotoVideo, plus the device-producing search giant and Best Buy. Meanwhile, the larger, more powerful and equally smooth Nexus 6P was first discounted to $450 at B&H on Friday, with Google and Best Buy quickly following suit. Only the latter retailer can do an even better deal, charging $425 for the 32GB stock Android-running phablet, and throwing in a free Speck CandyShell grip case. As far as B&H goes, the bundled $50 gift card is still ...

Undecided between the two cheapest Microsoft Surface Pro 4 configurations around? Redmond makes it very easy to choose now, selling both the Intel Core m3 and Core i5 4GB RAM/128GB SSD models at $900. The latter, which is clearly faster and more desirable, typically costs 100 bucks extra, and we’re guessing the 2-in-1’s budget-conscious adopters were willing to cut the performance corner, since the Core m3 version isn’t on sale. Instead, you can also grab the other Core i5 Surface Pro 4 SKU for less than usual, as long as you see fit to cough up a $300 premium on 8 gigs of RAM and ...

Deemed “the most giftable smartphone of 2015” even back when it was available at list price, the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition, aka Moto X Style, has been treated to surprisingly many deals lately, especially in Moto 360 bundles. By itself, the now Marshmallow-powered 5.7-inch handheld commanded a reduced tag of $350 at one point with 32GB internal storage space, and $400 very recently in a 64GB configuration. Naturally, it’s time the “entry-level” 16GB variant finally scores its own compelling discount, going down from $400 to just $300 at Motorola, Amazon and Best Buy. According ...

It’s odd, but despite there being superior Pro 3 and Pro 4 configurations around, we haven’t seen a lot of solid deals offered on the non-Pro Surface 3 convertible Windows 10 tablet lately. Or maybe we haven’t paid close enough attention, since the 2-in-1 device is rather old and lackluster by 2016 computing standards. Whatever the case, the Microsoft Surface 3 returns in the spotlight today, thanks to Amazon, which fulfils orders placed with third-party seller USA Supply Source starting at $385. That hooks you up with 64GB internal storage space and 2GB RAM in addition to the ...

“You snooze, you lose” is a verified saying when it comes to gadget deals, but while second-generation Chromecasts no longer net you free $10 gift cards or $20 Google Play credit, the audio-only model remains a pretty great bargain. Not as great as the complimentary video-capable Chromecast 2 offered with three-month Spotify Premium subscriptions a few weeks back, but tempting nonetheless, at $27.50 a pop. The reduced price is only valid if you pick up two Chromecast Audio units from Google or Best Buy, the $55 tag of the bundle bringing you a cool 15 bucks savings. Why would you ever ...

It’s ironic, but although Samsung initially announced the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge would launch on March 11 and Verizon and Best Buy have reportedly begun delivering the phones yesterday, it’s a bit of a stretch to call this a premature rollout. That’s because T-Mobile actually got the head start on all its carrier rivals with pre-orders shipped as early as February 29, and AT&T and Sprint followed suit around March 2. Ergo, you could even deem Big Red and BB late to the release party, despite themselves doing a splendid job in dispatching the GS7 and S7 Edge four days ahead of ...

While we could have easily guessed Microsoft’s refined second stab at a perfect cross-platform health wearable was in for a relatively swift $50 discount, it seemed unlikely the price would drop further than $200 very quickly. And yet here we are, less than five months in, no threequel in sight, and the Microsoft Band 2 already costs $175. That’s 25 bucks cheaper than ever before, mind you, and a cool $75 off the original MSRP, with both Redmond and Best Buy fully committed to the new tag, no matter your size option. You can get the Band 2 in small, medium and large, and either way, ...

If you're waiting to buy the LG G5 from Best Buy for whatever reason instead of the carriers, good news: the electronics big box chain has announced when it will have the phone ready for purchase. Pre-orders begin March 18. The G5 is likely to come in AT&T, Sprint and Verizon variants as the rest of LG's current phone lineup at Best Buy already do, though we can't be certain that the T-Mobile variants may hop in, too. Samsung's new flagships' pre-order periods end on this date, so we have some breathing room between neck-and-neck competitors. All we have is a date — better than what ...

If the Apple Watch’s recent discounts through Target, Best Buy and B&H Photo Video signal the coming of an incremental upgrade, could a new deal on the iPad mini 3 be considered confirmation of an approaching refreshed iOS tablet too? Well, not exactly, since the 7.9-incher was already rehashed last fall, and we’re now expecting a long overdue iPad Air 2 sequel. But that’s all the more reason to run to Best Buy, and score a $300 128GB Wi-Fi-only iPad mini 3 while you can. Cupertino no longer sells the 2014 A7-powered slate directly, at least not brand-new, instead charging a ...

Apple Watch 2 (or Watch S) skeptics may have been quick to file the OG’s recent Target reductions under time-limited, Valentine’s-only deals, and while they do seem to be gone already, at least online, they’ve also spread to a couple of other high-profile US retailers and authorized iSellers. B&H Photo Video will itself halt the sales later today, February 15, at 11:59 PM EST, but Best Buy doesn’t mention an expiration date on its official website and e-store, so it’s pretty obvious the goal is to clear as much inventory as possible ahead of the second-gen’s release. Great ...

We know, we know, there will always be some no-name Chinese device manufacturer ready to undercut the most absurdly low prices of Western phones and tablets for a few headlines and free publicity. But among the brands that count, the Fire 7 can’t possibly be rivaled in terms of extreme affordability. Yes, Amazon’s newest 7-incher, based loosely on Android, launched at $50 last fall, quickly dropped to $35 for Black Friday, smashed sales records over the holidays, then went back up to 50 bucks, and is now again sold for a deep discount. Well, deep is perhaps a bit of a stretch, since ...
