Samsung introduced the original Galaxy Gear a scant six months ago. That's it. In the time since, we've not only seen Samsung's second generation of smartwatches debut, but now this Android Wear news has totally shaken-up the market – we've come a long way in a very short time. While newer devices are already waiting for us, and the next big thing is perched on the horizon, the first Galaxy Gear is still a relatively recent, quite capable smartwatch that may not be worth dismissing altogether just yet. If you've been curious about smartwatches and have just been waiting for a decent ...

We're well used to seeing smartphone retailers offer discounts on their wares, but all too often those savings come with significant restraints: maybe only certain models are covered, or only those form specific manufacturers, and we're often talking about some narrow time window during which you can take advantage of the deal. Yesterday Best Buy revealed a new promotion that isn't without its own limitations, but the generally wide-open structure of it, with comparatively few restriction, has us thinking it's worth sharing with you. Here's how it works: if you're currently an AT&T, ...

Today was supposed to be a big day for Google, Android, and the Nexus family -- well, at least if the rumors were true. I think by now we can all safely say that they weren't. Best Buy is definitely doing everything they can to recreate themselves. At first we saw how they teamed-up with Apple in order to create small Apple Stores within each Best Buy with the idea of providing a similar "Apple Store" experience within, and as a matter of fact, it's worked out quite well for both companies. Now even with Samsung's success on the smartphone arena without having one single retail store in the United States, it's clear that the company hasn't really taken off in the tablet space, and it doesn't lead any of the other categories in consumer electronics either. As a ...
