Late last month we caught the first rumblings of a new Google project, one that would reportedly gather the company's disjointed messaging systems and bring them all under the purview of one app. What we knew then as Babble, now apparently set to arrive as Babel, instead, came to our attention by way of a few screenshots. Problem was, it didn't take long at all for those images to send up some warning flags, and they've since been largely dismissed as phonies. How is Babel actually going to look? We may be getting closer to finding out, thanks to some new (and hopefully legit) images ...

Google isn't that big on leaks, but with Google I/O a solid month away, rumors are part of what we'll see and hear for the next days to come. It's hard to give you a solid idea on what to expect, but the two rumors that have sounded the most on the web are the Google Play redesign for Android, and the Babel unified chat service. As opposed to Apple's approach where you have different stores for everything, the leaks of the Google Play Store version 4.0 seem to retain their philosophy of having one store to serve everything, which is definitely how things should be.
