Earlier this month, we talked at some length about the idea that this whole Google Play edition stuff that HTC and Samsung are into might be an even better idea for a company without the same high profile, like a ZTE or a Huawei. Of course, when Huawei went ahead and launched its flagship Ascend P6 a couple weeks later, its chairman specifically discounted the possibility that we might see the arrival of a GPe Ascend P6. Now, though, we're not quite sure what to think, upon getting word from the president of Huawei's handset division that talks with Google about the possibility of a GPe P6 ...

A little earlier this month, we heard Huawei announce its Ascend P6, a quad-core Android with 4.7-inch HD screen that measures only 6.18 millimeters thick. We remarked at the time that records like that have a way of being short-lived, so it's hardly surprising that this week we're already learning of another Android that just blazes right past the P6's record, coming in just 5.6 millimeters thick. Besides just being thin, the Umeox X5 has a 5.3-inch 720p screen, eight-megapixel main camera with three-megapixel front-facer, and is powered by a dual-core SoC. Based on that last bit, we're ...

Huawei's Ascend P6, the company's new super-thin Android flagship, has been leaking like a rusty bucket for several weeks now, and we've seen hardware renders, UI screenshots, and checked out some relatively decent rumored specs. Still, we had a few lingering questions, so it's great to see Huawei finally make things official today, announcing the Ascend P6 at a London event. So, what have we got? Pretty much exactly what we were expecting: a 4.7-inch 720p screen, 2GB of RAM, and a 1.5GHz quad-core K3V2 SoC. Those specs would be a lot more impressive on a phone coming out in 2012, but ...

There have been a couple of occasions over the past few weeks where we've had the opportunity to check out leaked renders of the Huawei Ascend P6. Though the manufacturer may not have the clout of a Samsung or even an HTC, the P6 nonetheless looked like a pretty attractive handset, and wowed us with its exceptional thinness. While we had heard a few rumors about the handset's capabilities before, hard numbers had been lacking. Today we flesh out our understanding of the P6 a bit upon the apparent leak of a number of its hardware specs. Early chatter mentioned the possibility of a 1080p ...

The Huawei Ascend P6, which we've recently seen in a leaked render, is expected to be unveiled in London at a June 18 event. Aside from being rumored as a flagship, the phone is also trying to become the thinnest there is, at just 6.2-milimeters. Latest chatter indicates that we should expect a 4.7-inch screen with 720p resolution. Looks like Sundays are becoming "leak days". After seeing some other leaks today, here's another one, claimed to be the Huawei Ascend P6. There's a nice perspective of the rounded bottom of the phone and we can also see the (apparently) metal sides, a microphone ...

Back in March, we heard about an upcoming Huawei flagship that – if the rumors were true – would take the top spot as the world's thinnest smartphone. We had heard similar rumors earlier in the year which ended up missing the mark, so we didn't give it an overabundance of attention. Since then, more evidence has arrived showing-off a 6.2-millimeter thick handset going by model P6-U06. Today, a number of renders of handset have finally arrived, revealed as the Huawei Ascend P6. As you can see above, that is one seriously thin smartphone. Additional renders of the P6 let us that the ...
