How much do we love you guys? For the fourth week in a row now, we're running a smartphone-themed giveaway, letting you not just get expert opinions and up-to-date news from your visits here at Pocketnow, but also have the chance to score some pretty nice hardware. While our summer of giveaways didn't officially get started until the beginning of July, back in late June this whole movement found its inspiration when we hooked a lucky Pocketnow reader up with a brand new Ascend Mate2 4G LTE from Huawei. With such a great response from that contest, we decided to keep things rolling, and set ...

This morning is proving to be quite the busy one for Chinese OEMs, and following ZTE's launch of its new Grand S Pro just an hour earlier, we've got a fresh announcement from Huawei, as the manufacturer makes with the details for US availability of its Ascend Mate2 4G LTE, a phone we first got to visit back at the CES in January. Unlike the five-inch ZTE model, this time we're squarely in phablet territory, with the Ascend Mate2's display measuring in at an expansive 6.1 inches. Unfortunately, the IPS panel's resolution isn't as high as the size might suggest, coming in at just 720p. With ...

"Who are we?" That's the question Huawei executives opened with at the new Ascend Mate2's press event, and it's a good one indeed. Besides serving as a mnemonic to settle the long debate over how exactly the Chinese company's name is pronounced in English (yes, the "H" is voiced), the question itself is interesting ... because according to Huawei's data, almost 80% of Americans would be unable to answer it. If you're a US citizen and you're familiar with the Huawei brand, that's probably due to the unsteady relations between the telecom giant and the American government, which not too long ...
