There’s nothing wrong with owning and cherishing devices from different “ecosystems”, but sometimes, it can be a little inconvenient and counter-intuitive. For instance, you still can’t pair an Apple Watch to an Android handheld. Meanwhile, no Android phones or tablets are compatible with Cupertino’s AirPlay protocol, so wirelessly streaming media from, say, a Galaxy S7 to an Apple TV requires a lot of jumping through hoops, installing third-party apps or even hacking your out-the-box version of Google’s OS. HTC and Apple have had their tangents every once in a while — well, mainly in design. Just in design. Really. But now, as Apple apps make the pilgrimage to Android, it seems that HTC will put out an olive branch to Apple's AirPlay standard with its new HTC 10. The Taiwanese OEM is an official licensee of Apple's proprietary AirPlay wireless media streaming protocol which means that an HTC 10 can blast audio content from or to Apple TVs, iPads and iPhones all the same — it can't do video content, though we're already a step ahead of every other phone that needs root access to hack ...

I've got a smartphone (a couple of them). I've got a tablet (a couple those, too). I've even gone through more than a few smart watches (though I'm not wearing one now while I wait for the Pebble). I consider myself a "power-user" when it comes to mobile devices. As such, I tend to do more with my devices than the Average Joe, if you'll pardon the pun.
