The HTC Radar is no stranger to video, already showing up in the spotlight as we gave it a hands-on at the IFA earlier this month. Now we can add to its video résumé some official spots produced by HTC, showing off some of the Mango phone’s capabilities.
These clips talk hardware design, access to media, and gaming. Maybe more than anything, though, they just make the Radar look cool.
One video in particular gives us some insight into the phone’s name, as its tools let you keep current events and info from your social group “all on your radar” [...]
The HTC Omega is one of the phones the Taiwanese phone maker is expected to launch with the occasion of its September 1 event. We’ve seen initial press renders of the device but the Omega has surfaced in some real-life photos ahead of its announcement.
The phone is for sale on an Algerian website and goes for 370 Euros (approximately $540). It seems to run an Orange-branded ROM but rumors around its specs talk about a single-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 SoC, 512MB of RAM, front-facing camera, and an eight-megapixel main camera.

Cases have appeared claiming to be for the HTC Eternity and HTC Omega, further solidifying the existence of these rumored Windows Phone Mango handsets. Like last week’s appearance of HTC Bliss and HTC Kingdom (Hero 4G?) cases, these are form-fitting models pictured without dummy phones, so at most they give us a sense of the general shape and port locations of these devices. (Notably, the camera cutouts on the Eternity case seem to match the camera/flash/speaker placement on those leaked images from late last month.)
As a quick refresher, Eternity and Omega are said to be [...]
We revealed to you some pretty clear press shots of the upcoming HTC Omega Windows Phone 7.5 device just about a week ago, and we also suggested that the consumer name for the Omega would be HTC Radar. New video today confirms that the Omega is indeed a white Windows Phone 7.5 handset that will go by the name Radar. It’ll have an 3.8″ SLCD display with 8GB of storage, and most likely (though still unconfirmed) a 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm chip. We’re most curious to hear about the integration of the front-facing camera, which we’re thinking might have something [...]
File this under “unsubstantiated” with a capital UN: WMPoweruser has heard from one of its tipsters that HTC may have two unannounced Windows Phone 7 smartphones in the works, the HTC Omega and HTC Eternity.
According to the source’s information, the Eternity will be the higher-end of the two devices, shipping with Mango and sporting a 4.7-inch AMOLED display. That’s getting quite close to tablet territory for our tastes, and could end up blurring the line between the two even more. It certainly sounds like it could be stretching-out your pockets, at [...]
This is the HTC Omega, an upcoming Windows Phone 7 device from HTC (likely to be announced at the September 1 press event). It’ll come in a white/silver color combination, perhaps with aluminum construction, and may be called the HTC Radar upon release.
Rumored to be powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 SoC (likely to be single-core), and include 512MB of RAM, the HTC Omega also features a front-facing camera, perhaps ushering in the era of Skype integration on WP7 devices for video chat.
The rumor mill puts it as having a 3.8″ SLCD display and an [...]
We couldn’t very well give some hands-on attention to the HTC Titan while neglecting its little brother, the HTC Radar, so we sought the smartphone out at IFA in Berlin to get some time with it as well.
If it wasn’t for a few Mango-specific quirks, you’d be forgiven for thinking the Radar was a refresh of a first-wave Windows Phone device rather than entirely new hardware. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though, as it helps keep costs down, providing multiple price points of entry for users considering making the jump to Windows Phone. It’s [...]
