Earlier this month, LG distributed invitations to a May 30 event where news about a "G" phone was teased. When first hearing about this, we speculated as to just what LG might hope to reveal, with something like the regional launch of the Optimus G Pro for China high on that list. Still, images of an unknown LG smartphone kept appearing, and we couldn't quite shake the rumor that LG might be planning on getting an early start to announcing the Optimus G II, and would use this event to do so. Well, it now seems like we should have just stuck with our guy on this one, as LG has now confirmed ...

There is a new top dog over on GLBenchmark (at least for some tests), an LG handset identified as model D801. With all this talk abut the original Optimus G possibly seeing a premature end, we're quite curious to learn about what other hardware LG might have on the horizon, so this very high-end device certainly piqued our interest. According to this source, that big AMOLED tablet has been delayed, but instead ...

It is yet unknown whether it will be a ten- or eleven-incher but it will reportedly be the premium tablet to compete with the Apple iPad and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. Insiders claim that Samsung will slap a Full HD Super AMOLED screen on the slate (which is a lower resolution than the one on the Nexus 10 at 2592 х ...

Maybe part of the reason NVIDIA was reportedly having so much trouble getting manufacturers signed up to use the Tegra 4 is that more and more companies are getting into the custom SoC game themselves. Samsung has been doing just that for years, and Huawei uses its own chips, too; we're now hearing that LG will be next to follow down that path. LG officials have confirmed that the company has designed what it's calling its Odin chip, an eight-core design in the vein of Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa, featuring an ARM big.LITTLE architecture. LG will reportedly contract TSMC to actually fabricate ...
