You’ve seen Windows Mobile 6.5 on the now dated Blue Angel platform. Now, WMExperts spotted the same forthcoming OS on a more recent hardware rendition from HTC, the Touch Pro/Fuze.
The cooks over at XDA-Developers have been able to port the 6.5 ROM as an early beta to the Touch Pro platform. Some things still don’t work properly, but it gives an idea of the possibilities of 6.5 on modern devices.
Here are some of the known issues, according to the cook:
* HTC Volume control does not appear to function (installing it removes all volume control functionality)
* AutoRun and SDAutoRun do not run on first boot, nor does connection manager. First boot behavior may have changed, or i messed something up. It’s 4:30 AM!
* CHome (Sliding Panels) and new unlock screen is not ported (yet) – I would recommend NOT locking your device until we get this ported, no way to unlock as of this moment.
* Due to HTC Volume not functioning, you will not be able to control volume when in call, using a custom dialer. only windows default dialer/volume control will work in this situation.
* Note that I will work on fixing these bugs later today, it’s already 5 AM and i’m about to pass out in my chair, had to get this build out before I did so
In addition to the video that was posted before, the video on the bottom goes into a little more details on 6.5 on the Blue Angel.
