Windows Marketplace for Mobile: The Web Interface

Just as the iPhone's app store has a desktop interface through iTunes, the Windows Marketplace for Mobile will have a web interface (seen below). One of the big advantages of the Marketplace web interface over using iTunes is that you can remotely purchase applications and they'll automatically be placed in queue to download on your device. With the iPhone, you can buy applications via iTunes, but to get the paid app on your phone, you must manually sync your device with iTunes.

Each application will get its own page with a description, reviews screenshots, and pricing.



If you choose to buy an application from the web app, you get the above screen which instructs you to open Marketplace and go to the My Apps menu item, and select "Ready to Download." Having the downloads queued up and ready to go will be quite convenient, especially if you buy multiple applications in one sitting.
