Recently we’ve posted about SlideIT, a sliding Soft Input Panel and we’ve compared it to another player in the field, Swype.
Today we’ll show you ShapeWriter, which, even if it officially supports only Windows Mobile 5 and 6, I’ve found it to work great on Windows Mobile 6.5. It also supports all screen resolutions and even more, I’ve found this to be the best among the three (the word “four” instead of “for” in the video is actually my mistake, did not choose to autocorrect even though the word was suggested) but it always comes down to your tastes and how your accuracy improves over time while using such SIP.
It does not support custom language packs like SlideIT, where you could switch between a Primary and a Secondary language but it comes in different versions for English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
If you like ShapeWriter but you’re not on Windows Mobile, it is also available for iPhone, Android and Windows Tablet PCs. The Windows Mobile version is pricey though, around $19.95 but you can use the SIP and see how it suits you for free.
