Urban Horizon Brings 3D Navigation To Windows Mobile

Urban Horizon, created by Novlum Inc, will turn your Windows Phone into a 3D GPS navigation system. Urban Horizon operates with or without a data connection by storing only the maps to your storage card. The program will guide the adventurer using visual and spoken cues to indicate the distance, direction and name of the street for the next turn. If there is an active data connection, users may route to anywhere in the US or Canada without having to save the maps on the device.

Urban Horizon features one of the most useful features seen on a Pocket PC navigation program; 3D mapping. The program has nearly 2000 3D landmarks and 70 North American cities as well as an elevation view so mountains and hills look life-like. Search updated addresses and over 12 million points of interest that displays the phone number which is tied directly into your phone, so calling ahead is quick and simple. Urban Horizon will run on nearly all Windows Mobile 5 and greater devices. Points of interests are updated from Tele Atlas and all the updates are free. The program is priced from free for a 14 day trial up to $59.99 USD for a one year subscription, about half the cost of AT&T’s Navigator.

The WVGA version is not quite available yet but the developer has stated that it will be implemented for testing on other devices shortly.
