Ever have a number pop onto your caller ID and debated whether or not you should answer it? Well, a freeware program dubbed CallerUtility hopes to help.
When a call comes in and if you have either a 3G internet connection or WiFi connection, CallerUtility will pop up and scan the database to let you know who that number belongs to by checking the public listing and show it in a window on top of your caller ID.
There is a version for the US that even shows the incoming call location (based on where the call occurs and not just from caller ID). For instance, I was in Burbank, a city in Southern California, with a friend’s cellular phone that had a West Los Angeles area code. However, since we were both in Burbank, his West LA cell phone appears as a call from a “Wireless” number “from Burbank, CA.”
You can download the US version of CallerUtility with the added address feature from XDA-Developers. Other versions are also available from the main XDA-Developers page, including localization for other countries.
A very useful application that pops on top of the top third portion of the TouchFLO 3D caller ID pop up on a Touch Pro. This is a great program for those that want a little bit more information about who is calling them.
