Marketplace Pick: Tag Any Song With Shazam Now At Version 2

Daniel Webster | November 29, 2009 11:00 PM

The music recognizing program Shazam has been around for quite some time now on many different platforms. In this Marketplace Pick we had decided to show off Shazam’s new makeover for version 2. There is a much more intuitive “tagging” system that saves and shares tags with the rest of the world. Surprisingly Shazam is able to recognize even some of the most unpopular songs. The program works by listening to a particular song playing, and then matching it to a data base with millions of other songs. Every song has its own particular melody, rhythm, and pitch, making it easier for Shazam to identify the artist and song. There is a free trial available and the full Shazam Encore edition costs $4.99 USD.
