Swype Now Hacked and Ported to Android

The unique Swype keyboard that allows users to swipe their finger across the software on-screen keyboard to “connect the letters” without lifting their finger first debuted on the Verizon Wireless Samsung Omnia II and was quickly ported to other devices by clever developers. Now, it seems that the keyboard is making itself to the Android platform, and the video shows the Swype keyboard being used on the Droid Eris, which uses an HVGA display.

More recently, the company behind Swype technology got huge investments from Samsung and Nokia, so we should at least see the Swype keyboard more on those devices.
