SlingPlayer Mobile allows you to remotely view and control your television as long as it’s connected to a Slingbox unit. It’s a great way to watch your favorite programs on the go. The Windows Mobile version works great, but little has changed in the mobile app over the past couple of years. This is evident in the UI of the player. It’s always been far from finger-friendly and rather cumbersome to use. Those days are now behind us.
SlingPlayer Mobile has finally received a makeover in the form of version 2.0. Announced via the company’s Twitter, 2.0 introduces a finger-friendly, icon-based interface in a wide-screen format. The expanded menu system is easy to maneuver thanks to the face-lift, but some of the graphics could still use some optimizing for WVGA screens. It’s definitely a huge improvement over the previous versions and will no longer provoke incorrect button presses. You can trial the app for 30 days and purchase it for $29.99. Visit Sling Media’s website for more information. Download it directly to your Windows phone by pointing your mobile web browser to mobile.slingmedia.com.
Note: You must have a Slingbox in order to use SlingPlayer Mobile.
