While the PIM situation (Contacts, Calendar, Tasks) situation on Windows Mobile has remained about the same in the last decade, third party developers like Developer One and WebIS have been creating PIM replacement apps to keep busy people productive.
Pocket Informant, the best-selling PIM replacement for Windows Mobile (which received our Editors’ Choice award at version 8), is about to get a bump to version 9. Though the upgrade list is a bit modest, it adds a lot of support for finger-friendly navigation.
1) 6.5 support
2) 6.5 Gesture support throughout the app
3) Finger usability in a lot of places
4) GTD support within Tasks
5) Full PNG support for icons which means PI works and looks a lot better with those kinds
The post on WebIS’ blog mentions a release of sometime next week. We’ll be taking a look at the new version in the coming days.
