HTC has just released an official update for Touch2, their Windows Mobile 6.5 powered QVGA model. While the naming of the update would make you think that it will enable the Owner Information icon hidden in Windows Mobile 6.5, the actual description of the update states that “HTC Touch2 brings you the added value of being able to unlock your device with a convenient way. Your device will be more responsive to resume after gsleepingh to conserve power”.

The update usability is selective: “this update is only applicable to the following AKU version. -> “21849…AKU version…21874″.

You can check AKU version from Setting -> System -> About

Ex: CE OS 5.2.21869 (Build 21869.5.0.82). The AKU version is 21869″.

And, as always, since it’s a hotfix, it needs to be reapplied after a Hard Reset.
