New HTC Flashlight App for HD2 Available

A new HTC app has emerged over on XDA-developers. It turns the HD2 into a flashlight by using the camera’s dual LED flash. Once it’s launched, it’ll shuffle through some animations to show how it works. You basically swipe the screen to change the brightness level. Pressing the illuminated button on the body of the virtual flashlight will turn it off. The on-screen flashlight is polished and nicely complements the actual hardware lighting of the HD2.

This is most likely an app that we'll see in a future ROM from HTC. It appears to be working wonderfully for HD2 users, so if you own one, grab it from XDA developers – they’ve packaged it up in CAB format for easy installation. Sorry Touch Pro owners, this won’t work for your device.

Warning: continuous use of this app for lengthy periods is not recommended as it may cause damage to the LEDs.
