My Phone Update Introduces SMS Synchronization Bug

With the latest update of Microsoft’s cloud-based backup solution for Windows Mobile phones called My Phone, it looks like users are reporting the inability now to back up text messages, which is a bug and not a feature that Microsoft intentionally crippled. Luckily, users have found a registry setting that will restore this capability. For users comfortable enough to play around with their phone’s registry, here’s what to do:

Got To HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftMy Phone

Then you have to change the registry value “DisableSMSDataType” from “1″ to “0″

Hopefully, Microsoft will be rolling out another My Phone update soon to rectify the issues for the masses.
