Wow, here they are – what appears to be real screenshots of the final version of Windows Mobile 6.5, which looks very similar to the leaks we’ve been seeing in the last few weeks, just a bit more polished.
These screenshots come from PocketLint (via). Based on the beta, the honeycomb has been spruced up with a nice fade to black effect on the side. All of the icons are new compared to what you’d see on a WinMo 6.1 device. The X button in the upper right corner is indeed larger, but not ugly and pixelated as seen in the beta.
The buttons for Internet Explorer 6 Mobile have a Mac Leopard feel to them – they sit on a “dock” on the bottom and all you to call up your favorites, see the keyboard, search, and other things.
The lock screen will be a bit more functional than we thought, with a few into your next appointment, plus the ability to quickly see whether you have any missed SMS, Email, or other.
Until the official announcement of 6.5 in a few hours, check out additional photos.
P.S. We should really stop using the term “Windows Mobile”, because Microsoft has officially done so – on the Microsoft.com homepage, it says that today “Steve Ballmer announces new Windows phone updates”. Windows Phone. Windows Phone. Repeat.
