MWC: HTC's Push Internet Makes Browsing Faster
File under: News
One of the many subtle new features of the new
Touch Pro 2 and
Diamond 2 is HTC's
Push-Internet feature. While at first we thought that HTC had licensed sever-side rendering technology found in Opera Mini or Skyfire, it turns out that Push-Internet will "get the page ready for you" based on your usage habits. If you check the stock market everyday at lunch, you can make sure that your stock-checking website is queued up and ready to go. It seems that this system is manual, meaning, the user checks off certain favorites that will be preloaded. It looks like HTC is still using Opera Mobile for the default browser. We'll know more about this soon, but it looks like a really smart feature.
