At the MWC HTC press conference (as reported by WMexperts), we learn about some really great features for conference calls on the HTC Touch Pro 2.
First of all, the hardware has two external speakers and two microphones. The microphones are used for advanced noise cancellation. In terms of software features, while you’re in a call, you can turn the phone face down on a table to instantly turn speakerphone mode on. While the phone is laying face down, it would appear there’s a mute button on the back as well.
The new “Straight Talk” software integrated with Windows Mobile also improves conference call usability, by adding very easy methods to start conference calls from calendar appointments and multi-recipient emails. If you’ve set up a calendar appointment with conference call information, when the reminder pops up, it will have a big call button and it will show you the pass number as well as other notes while on the call. From within an email with multiple recipients, you can actually check off all the people in the email in order to start a conference call with them right away.
