The latest version of ActiveSync, version 4.5, has (finally) been released. For those of us still running XP or earlier, this is a welcomed update. I’ve been using 4.5 Beta 2 for a long time, and it has been fairly solid for me. If you’re not a Vista user, then you need to check this out. You can download the software from the link shown in this announcement.
UPDATE: I just noticed that after I installed the released version of AS 4.5, that it didn’t upgrade the beta version that I had, but completely wiped it and all of the partnership info that I had previously on the computer. It also killed all of the device apps that I had installed (and were accessible via Add/Remove Programs in ActiveSync’s Tools–Add/Remove Programs menu). It looks like I’m going to have to reestablish EVERYTHING… sigh.
